If you buy 10 cards it ok... Like i stated, i just bought a 130 Auto/gu lot for $128 on ebay. That is just shipping on my lot on COMC..

What if i want to buy 2000 cards here(and i would), does $500+ shipping sound fair?
Well the difference is what is the chance that when you buy a 2000 card lot on Ebay that you will even keep half of the cards? Unless you are a game used freak and want every card ever possible then most of the cards will be junk, with CMC you buy what you want from a huge list of sellers, and pay only a quarter to ship each card, just factor that when buying something and no problem.

Yup, buying bigger size lots on ebay, you just "trim" the fat and dump the crap. So you telling me $500 is fair for shipping. I should just buy another Jordan auto(which i also am doing on ebay instead of buying on COMC with the shipping). I can guarantee all the 500 cards i bought here isnt worth the 2 jordans i got this week on ebay.

I ship 3500lb Muscle cars(h4auto.com) to the mainland for $980. That is fair.

BIGshow, the reason why i dont sell expensive cards on COMC.

1-Accountability (what happens if COMC has a flood, fire or storage break down-->#@#@#@#@ happens)
2-Insured? Bankruptcy?
3-liquidity
4-etc,etc....

I am sure u understand liability from a business stand point.

COMC is a great concept and website! But just need to let the seller know what BUYERS THINK.

From a buyers point of view, i agree that for many of the modern mid to high end cards, it makes a lot more sense to buy from ebay. People on comc seem to overprice their cards in many cases even though the same cards are going on auction on ebay for significantly lower prices. I like comc for buying inserts and regular short print cards for finishing off my sets.

They are insured, but I think they have to cataloged first, and are only insured up to your asking value. As far as Bankruptcy, since they dont own the cards, if COMC has any debts, the debtors could not collect on those cards.

Selling high $$ Cards on COMC has its advantages, but also some negatives. The listing fee is lower (.20 compared to .35 on ebay). However on a high end card your probably at 10-13% in fees. COMC will charge you 20% if you cash out, but you can take that money and buy other cards and maybe make more on the break out depending on what you buy and/or your shipping expenses.

Dude, you just don't get it. They can't ship out low end cards for cheaper without losing money. You wouldn't ship a 3500lb muscle car to the mainland for $400 would you without passing on the cost to the buyer?

I have said all along that I think the sellers should pay for at least half of the shipping costs. For some reason, no one likes this idea.

Lastly, I sell as many high-end cards on that sight as almost anyone. My asking price has surpassed $150,000. I'm not looking to make a business out of it. I'm looking to move cards that were just sitting around anyway. I trust COMC. Hopefully that ends up not being a bad thing.

Bottom line, if you don't like how they handle the shipping fees, don't buy from there any more. Voice your opinion and check back every now and then to see if things have changed.

(SO IF I LOW BALL YOU, DONT BLAME ME, i have to adjust for shipping).

Hope you sellers get together and ask for some type of shipping breaks for BUYERS. WITHOUT BUYERS, you will not move to the next level. Currently they are FLIPPERS and cards moving port to port. I WANT TO BUY AND SHIP OUT to have the card IN HAND. I bought a couple of thousand worth at the beginning of the year and was turned off by the shipping rates being RAISED and stopped for a few months. But the bulk special brought me back a couple of months ago, I also told COMC on the phone today that i would buy 1000 or more cards if the shipping rates was better(lower end cards gets KILLED by the .25 shipping, buying a .25 card and shipping .25 makes it a .50 card, etc ..etc.. etc..

$128.00 shipping ( i could just bought a 138 GU/AUto lot for that on ebay.. errr)

COMC is a great site, but i am sure alot of other IN HAND buyers are not buying because of shipping, not quality of cards.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOUR INPUT IS.... HOPE YOU SELLERS see the buyers point of view..
i agree--did the same and wound up paying $40 in shipping on my last order--thought it was capped at the time--they need a revamping of their low priced cards handling--maybe let the sellers lump a bunch together as a lot and ship in a flat rate box--that would be cool plus they would'nt be pulling from a bunch of different places--saving a bunch of time and getting rid of a lot of cards that waste time and money for everybody involved--does anybody from COMC read this thread?----

In relation to any other business. If i consign my vehicles to a dealer on the mainland and they go bankrupt and sold my cars or just took the money to pay off debt, i would BE SCREWED ,etc,etc,etc..

As for the BOSS 429, tough... Buy houses in Las Vegas, better investment. just got a SMALL house in Silverado Ranch, for $70k! Waiting for another....

COMC is great, i have no problem with them making money, I am just letting the Sellers know what a Buyer thinks(i am sure alot of lurkers/buyers think the same).

I am debating at the moment of canceling all my offers and just relist the cards on COMC and ship the few good cards i bought . idk.

$128 shipping. That is almost the cost of the House inspection with a 30 page report and pictures....sshshsss

Dude,
I just posted, i did stop buying at the beginning of the year and checked back and bought again because of the bulk rate shipping in july. I didnt get a answer to my email about the bulk shippig(the website wasnt updated).

Next I do trust COMC. I just posted the problems that could arise with selling high end cards.

Passing the TRUE(I MAKE NOTHING) cost of $900-$1000 cost of a 3500lb car at the true cost of the shipping company is understandable to the customer. sending 500 cards that cost $15 or less for $128 is not(i dont expect $15 cost, maybe $40-50-60 would be understandable).

Just finished canceling my remaining offers. Thanks for making my decision easier.

The original intent of the posts are to BUY MORE CARDS. IF THE SHIPPING HAD A CAP, I WOULD BUY MORE! THAT IS the intent of my posts.
With out BUYERS, what are the seller going to do?

I WANT TO BUY MORE CARDS BUT THE SHIPPING STRUCTURE ISNT FAVORABLE. <============= That is my intent.

Yes I believe Tim tries to catch up on reading this thread, but only a few people in this forum have read every post of this thread, this is the only reason I log onto BO every day.

And the only concern I would have with sending high end cards to CMC is on the shipping side, imagine if one of your shipments got lost in the mail, especially Matt, he would probably go crazy, try collecting insurance from the post office on a box of cards without a checklist.

Where can you get a Home Inspection for anywhere near $128? The last one I did ten years ago was over $500 on new construction.

I agree with you that shipping costs need to be lower on COMC, but to accomplish this would require a major contribution by the sellers and I don't think it would go over well. Do to the nature of COMC's service, 25 cents per card for shipping is reasonable and should be factored into to the "total delivered cost" of anything that you are buying.
