I agree with you that shipping costs need to be lower on COMC, but to accomplish this would require a major contribution by the sellers and I don't think it would go over well. Do to the nature of COMC's service, 25 cents per card for shipping is reasonable and should be factored into to the "total delivered cost" of anything that you are buying.
The cost is about $200-$300. I get alot done so its around $200 for a small house in Las Vegas, Pretty good too. They do the whole inspection with a complete report with pictures and 20-30 page report. etc.etc.. They even comment on .50 switch trims, etc..lol

$128 is completely ridiculous. It must be an oversight on their part( I hope). Maybe they were thinking small or that most peeps would flip and ship in small doses.

Anyway What does everyone think of the 20% cash out fee. I understand there needs to be a fee and I am cool with that, but is 20% a bit high?

I just sold a $32 card on ebay and shipped it for about 17% with paypal fees included.
.15 insertion fee
1.22 PayPal fee
2.42 final value fee
1.75 shipping fee.
====
5.54 = ~17%

Now, on CMOC I would pay .15 or .25 for processing, and then pay $6.40 to cash out. Pretty damn close.

I am just trying to figure out whats best for my sales. The 3% difference is not a really a big deal considering CMOC scans the cards, gets book value for you, has a better customer base, and is probably an easier sell, but if buyers are scared from the shipping then it cuts my potential buyer base to just flippers.

Now when I cash out of CMOC to paypal, paypal takes a fee from that as well, correct?

Anyone else do the have ebay vs CMOC strategies for a seller? 350 pages is alot to read at work haha!

you proabably said most of the difference here: "considering CMOC scans the cards, gets book value for you, has a better customer base, and is probably an easier sell"
Dont forget you also don't have to run/drive to the post office many times a week, spend $ on envelopes/packing supplies/paper/postage, take all the time to scan, list, research on ebay (then deal with relisting or non paying bidders)
I have not cashed out yet (member since 4/08) and I don't know if they could do it like a gift so there are no fees on that end. I'm not sure what to do with my sales money when that time comes.
I have around 60 cards to ship and i'm waiting for some special or something else before I send. I did factor in the shipping when I purchased the cards so that I'm not getting nailed to bad.
I do know that I have been able to send a good 30-50 cards in team bags in bubble mailers for under $6 in the past on ebay auctions. Higher end stuff that needs holders that may be different but the PO has many offerings for shipping and COMC just need to take more advantage of it and be able to make $ and pay the employees at the same time.

To go with Matt,
I'd probably chip in some extra on the front end for shipping if they lowered the back end cash out percent.

Matt went over the commission thing like 200 pages ago and he figured out that CMC is cheaper then Ebay, either way, when you factor Ebay fees you have to put in some money for your time, cause listing, packaging and all of that stuff takes time, sure does CMC, but CMC is so much easier. You just get all your junk together, throw it in a box and ship it out, so much easier then Ebay.

Seems like the sellers are getting the best deal. They should raise the fee for sellers to .50 a card since scanning,looking up cards,pricing,insurance,liability and inventory is harder then taking the cards out of inventory to ship. When buyers request shipment, it relieves COMC from liability,storage space,etc...
As in any business, the buyers(customers) are the key.

Make the Seller pays .50 per insert.
Make buyers pay .10 shipping

Cause i hear its such a great deal for sellers.

There will always be buyers on COMC with their current structure. I do hope they figure something out with shipping prices though to bring even more buyers to the sight.

I will say that no one complains about the price of shipping cards they buy from me.

I just had some cards posted last night. I came across a minor problem. In all my packages I try to fill the boxes as much as possible. Well, in this last package I was completely full and couldn't find anything else I wanted to pay .15 to have sold. So I filled it with about 10 checklists. I made a note in the package and said that I ONLY want the sleeved cards to be processed (obviously the checklists weren't sleeved). And sure enough, they processed my checklists and charged me for it.
