Exactly the same for me--mine went out on Monday, they sent me an email Wednesday that they would be "live" by 11/12. If they are really lowering the listing fee on cards, this will make it REALLY tough for me not to send in a BUNCH of cards. I guess I will wait and see what my first 100 do.....although I guess even if I don't sell anything, at least I am getting a good storage place for my cards so they don't completely take over my house!!

They got my cards fast, got email yesterday, will be up by the 13th. I hope they don't raise the cashout fee, I will be really bitter if they do that since with this shipment that will be 2,000 cards for me.

HERE IS THE NEWS THAT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR FROM COMC!!!

Graded Cards & Lower Processing Fees
We have two huge announcements.

We are slashing our processing fee in half!
You can now send us graded cards!

On the potentially downside Postage has increased to $3.00 for the first card and $.25 for each additional card.

For all cards sent in after today, there will be a monthly storage fee of 1 Cent. Seems fair.

What do you all think?

I know that I will be gathering a lot of cards tomorrow

Default Just a Thought...

  • If I had say, 200, $1.00 cards sitting around in their storage, that would be $2.00 a month extra fee.
  • Think of the guys who may send in thousands of cheap cards.
  • If they sit for 6 months you wouldn't want to pay to have them sent back
  • Could I just have them throw them in the garbage for me

Not a far fetched option on some of the low end stuff you see there.

Best to All,
Vinny
PS: I know it says after today, I hope everyone is adding that calculation before sending things in

Well CMC.com just #@#@#@#@ the bed. $.01 storage fee for each card per month is no better than paying for an ebay store, especially if you are not able to move anything. I understand they are trying to facilitate competitive pricing and stop people from sending in 'junk' (as quoted from their website).

The new storage fee is enough for me to not send anything else to them as my current inventory of (1137 cards) is grandfathered from paying the monthly charge for the next 14 months.

Old: 20 cents per card with no storage fee
New: 10 cents per card with 1 cent per month storage fee

All this means is on average you have to sell your cards in around 10 months to pay the same amount you always did. And that's on average, so if you sell a bunch of cards when they are first listed, that means the other cards in your account could sit there a lot longer than 10 months before your average cost to sell cards is over the old 20 cent average.
