Default eBay auto snipe bidder recommendation?

I really need to start using an automated eBay sniping service.

Can anyone recommend a good one that is trustworthy and easy to use. Those qualities are more important to me than cost, although I would much prefer a free one if it is trustworthy.

I've heard of eSnipe, auctionSniper, PowerSnipe, etc. But I hate trying things blind without some kind of recommendation.

Thanks in advance.

I use gavelsnipe. Started about a month ago and haven't had any issues. Plus, it's free.

I have used esnipe ALOT...it is really easy to use but you do have to buy credits.

Got a question. What is the benefit of using a Snipe application? Do you win more?

yes...would love to hear the advantages to using something like this.

Is this essentially replacing you having to sit at the cpu to enter a last second bid?

I like to use them because it bids for you within the last 10-15 seconds maybe closer. This means I can set my max bid days before the auction ends and not create a bidding war. That and I don't have to be up at all hours of the night. It also keeps me under control as far as how much I want to spend days in advance. Competition makes me do stupid things sometimes.

You also avoid shilling BS.

I use the Gixen.com Desktop Manager and it has worked great for me although the UI isn't the most intuitive.

used this a few times over the past 3-4 months. you put in your max so you don't have to worry about being online all the time to place bids. I have been out bid using it still so there must be some others programs that go in the last 1-8 seconds. I have no issues with it besides getting outsniped on my snipe

Can someone explain to me why they use a Snipe?

I'm not sure yet.

Won my first item using Gavelsnipe. Just wanted to pass that it worked and helped me stay within my price range. Great tool and it's free.

I use ibid and you can change the time it snipes. Default is 6 sec but I change it to 2 seconds. Check your settings you may be able to change it.

Biggest Reasons to Snipe:
1.Keeps you from a bidding war, days before the end of an auction. which will keep the final price down and leave more $ in your pocket
2. Keeps shill bidders from knowing your going to bid and trying to increase price.
3. Set your max bid up days in advance and leave it.

gixen I believe is maxed at the last 5 seconds but you can "donate" to them and get down to like 1 second.

plenty of options out there and the above quote is pretty much dead on as to why these are good options.

If you leave your comp on while sniping use jbidwatcher:

I haven't tried anything yet. But I'm leaning towards using JBidwatcher.

correct, gavelsnipe bids for you, it's free, and it's server-side which means you don't need to keep your computer on for it to work.

One thing to note is that if you are sniping against another sniper and his bid is higher, you will lose. It's not always that you are sniping and getting outbid by someone manually w/in the last 5 seconds.

Also, if your snipe bid isn't higher than the current high bidder's max bid, you lose that as well. May seem trivial knowledge to some, but I think chances are pretty good of winning an auction by sniping with 10 seconds left, assuming your max is high enough.

I am finding this JBidwatcher program to be absolutely wonderful. It puts all the power in my hands, which I like. And seeing new updates to the program make me feel like the developers are on the ball with eBay changes. I'm digging it hard core dude, thanks.
