Default Ebay now charging sellers a fee on shipping AND a USPS rate increase

Starting tomorrow ebay will be adding an additional fee based on a % of the sellers' shipping cost. USPS rates are also increasing tomorrow.

Seems like it's pretty much pointless to list .99cent cards on ebay anymore

Yea but it's free to list price at what you want for item if I read my letter right. That's a good part about it!!

USPS rates went up yesterday. I noticed it as I was printing out labels for 1 oz cards. Since yesterday, 1-3 oz now cost $1.75. 1 oz used to be like $1.41 or something.

The first 50 items per month will be free at any price (used to be free for first 100 auctions @ .99cents or lower).

Seems like unless you're selling high-dollar cards you're getting screwed

Yea that's true. I'll just set the price reasonable & put free shipping, seems that attracts buyers more than a card with a shipping charge!!

Then on to COMC they go! Bigger/better inventory means happier buyers!

Actually not totally true cause I saw where some prefer keeping their own inventory instead of sending in to COMC to set in their warehouse or whatever they call it.

Yeah I just did the math. Assume a card sells for .99cents + $1.75 for cheapest USPS shipping = .25cents in ebay fees + .42cents in Paypal fees.

So you got really only got .33cents for your $1 card

yeah but the buyer is paying $2.75 for a $1 card (delivered) and the seller gets .33cents for that $1 card - seems like a broken system IMO

Oh it is but Ebay knows they are the one of the best games in town to unload unwanted cards. Some like COMC but they charge a certain fee as well & they have the sellers cards in their posession & can set there until sold which could be up a few months.

It is Broken but seriously, with the traffic they generate, it's sometimes better to get 10x 0.33 than 2 times 1$

All about volume
