Default How do you guys list a PC card you want to sell only if the price is right?

Ok so I know that might be a little confusing. I am thinking about listing a card in my PC that I am only going to sell if I get a crazy high offer. I want to list it on ebay with a high bin, but I don't want people constantly emailing me saying you will never get that or you are crazy asking that much. How do I go about saying this without pushing interested buyers away? How do you list a card like this.

Well you can take a look at my listings as I just put up my PC on there. I kept it within reason but put best offer on them. I've gotten offers very close to what I wanted and the buyer was happy.

When searching and seeing $10million or best offer I totally ignore them even if I want it and wait for another to pop up.

I think you answered your own question, maybe just reword it a little nicer. If I saw an item I wanted with that text above, I would respect that and I would completely understand. Still, you may get low offers, and many buyers don't read the item description. You'll either have to auto-decline low offers, or respond to each one.

Good luck!

Open a secondary selling account without an eBay store.

Take advantage of the 50 free listings per month.

Instead of fixed price, run it as an auction with buy it now, with the opening bid as the price you want to get, and the buy it now at least 10% higher than that (eBay requires this).

Take out anything in your listing about the angst and personal anguish you are experiencing selling the item. Act like $500 or whatever is a perfectly natural, reasonable price.

If someone emails you and want to haggle, politely decline, citing the fact that this is an auction. But leave them some hope by hinting at the fact that you might lower the starting bid as time goes on.

If you don't have an eBay store, the fee to do this is $0. If the item actually sells, the FVF is 9% instead of the 7% that it would be if you had a store. But if you had a store, the posting fee would cost you a couple bucks each insertion, so for an item like this you're best off listing on an account with no store.

All of this used to be 100% eBay legal. I haven't kept up with their twisted rules changes (and how they are enforced) enough to know if it still is, or if you might need to tweak the strategy a bit.

BTW, after the listing ends, you could relist right away, or you could keep it dangling in the "unsold listings" section of My eBay for I think 120 days. Certainly 60 days. If you have the listing saved in Turbo Lister, you might be able to keep it around indefinitely.
