Default COMC Black Friday

Did anyone else see a decrease in sales over the weekend?

i didn't sell anything over the weekend (not that i sell too much anyways). i picked up some cards from premium1981 and swagcards that were a pretty good deal for my collection.

Just the opposite for me. I have a whooping 11 cards left. I wish I would have gotten out my last flat rate out in time for this.

Mine were decent and pretty consistent to my norm, but I also unloaded a few things at major discounts...otherwise, I didn't notice a significant bump in sales, as I thought might happen.

There were so many people running sales though, that some deals might have gotten overlooked? People were looking for big bargains Friday and that was what seemed to work. I did pick some stuff up here and there though from a buying perspective.

I would say that it was about a normal weekend. In fact, I have sold as much today as I did on any one single day this past weekend.

Well, today was a record day so far...I think that could probably be because of the special I am running today, but still I have to say cyber Monday was/is very nice...and a lot of BO members have contributed so far, so thanks to everyone!

I did not see a decrease but I also did not see a significant increase given the sales that I was running.

When I had my brick and mortar store, the Holiday season was always kind of hit and miss. Black Friday is when people are at the mall. It is not necessarily when people are shopping for collectibles. A lot of collectors stop buying for themselves during the Holiday season and focus their disposable income on Holiday gifts. If there was any increase in traffic, it was usually people trying to sell me stuff in late November to mid December, so they could raise money for Christmas gifts.

One time a guy sold me about $400 worth of packaged action figures for $40, so he could use the money to buy packaged action figures for his nephew. I asked him, "why don't you just give him these? They're better than what you're going to buy with the $40." He was stunned. "I couldn't do that. These are collectible and he'd rip them out of the package to play with them."
