Default does ebay not care about bid retractions??

hey was on ebay today looking at some of the bidders on a couple cards and i saw that alot of the bidders had 30 -50 + bid retractions in less then 6 months! i do not sell on ebay a whole lot but do buy alot of cards off there and it seems like alot of these ebay people have way more bid retractions then a couple years ago!!!!

I thought this was frowned upon?? i always made sure i did not have more then 1 or 2 in 6 months and i thought that was pushing it!!!

i have even seen a couple user's with a 100 + bid retractions in less then 6 months!!

does ebay just not gave a crap no more??? i know they pretty much do not anyways!!

but i always thought that alot of bid retractions was a sign of a bad buyer or a shady ebay user???

no, sometimes i change my mind on an auction and use a bid retraction. not too often though as i dont buy a lot and usually not too much. ebay used to be upset about it, but now they do not care at all regarding bid retractions.

That is how I look at it. All too often these people are using the retractions to see what the max bid is. A usefull tool for someone looking to shill an auction.

Ebay doesn't care as long as they get some kind of $$.

hiendsportscards$ tried to mess up my auctions tonight.

Bid retractions: 33
Bid retractions (6 months): 151

He made alot of bids on my items, then retracted at the last hour. Not sure how ebay allowed it but he was able to.

Anyway he was the top bidder then retracted and basically dropped the value down on my card, hoping he could pick it up cheaper at the end.

I'm not too sure, but i believe you can block certain bidders with X+ amount of bid retractions in a month/6 months.

You can block anyone. Just put their ebay id in the block section.

50 sounds excessive to me. Ive only done immediately after bidding when I meant to bid 13.00 and end up bidding 13000. Most of the time the 25 dollar card gets bid up to 180 bucks or something. The chill bids are in early in my experience.

But if you don't know the ID of every undesirable on eBay, it's easier just to set a bid retraction threshold.

You can block those with non payment strikes more than 2 in a 6 month period, but there is no way of blocking those with retractions other than cancelling a bid they have placed on your item and add to your block list.
