Default Ebay article on Moneycentral

Interesting reading, the 4th paragraph that speculates lower listing fees but higher FVFs next year is the most intriguing.

good read- I think that lotsa folks are dumping stuff and getting what they can for their existing inventories as their cash flow tightens. I suspect as the marketplace evolves eBay listing fees will drop or be reduced, but as stated in the article do not think they will not make for them elsewhere........

I agree, I wouldn't be surprised to see 10 cent listing now 99 cents auctions now on for ebay. Ebay wants to bring back to fun of auctions, so I am sure they will raise all other fees but lower 99 cent auctions once again. I personally don't like it cause listing stuff at 99 cents is a big risk.

"Despite the high fees, eBay (which has a 20-cent listing fee sale today only) seems to be having a fabulous holiday quarter. Analysts at Morgan Stanley and American Technology Research are bullish on the stock, saying that eBay is seeing the healthiest listings growth in several quarters."

Does this mean we will see free gallery more and more? During this holiday season they have 33% off listing fees, free gallery for a month, they had so many deals for more than 30 days, I guess these well all test pilots to see if reducing fees would raise traffic and it has. So expect to see what I said in the first paragraph.

How do you figure 23%

5% from ebay
3% paypal
50 more cents from paypal and ebay listing fee

My rule is always 10-15% unless you start the auction at a high price and spend a lot of money on ebay feactures.
