Is there any way to customize the sorts of emails COMC sends to sellers? I'm high enough volume now where this is really starting to clutter up my inbox. I could see how this stream of email updates and such would be useful for certain users, but I'm active enough on the site itself where there's rarely much an email can tell me that I don't already know, short of maybe the recent price changes.

Considering they are advertising the feature in a full page ad in this month's Beckett, I'd hope this feature would be up soon.

You don't need a coupon. Just let them know it's your first submission, and they'll take the $20 off.

Check their homepage for promotions. There's always at least one running. However, the big one is usually around the National. Last year's was as many cards as you could fit in a 550 box for $55.

Hello Everyone,

I posted this in another thread on the forum, but also wanted to put it here so that others would have a chance to see it.

COMC is working to help make grading accessible to everyone. As we are now a Beckett Grading Service Authorized Submission Center, users will be able to use COMC store credit to pay for BGS submissions, both of items already on site, and for product you would send to us. For an item on hand, you would submit them to us with our "To Be Graded" processing service. There will be no charge for the processing and it only takes one business day for the item to be scanned and deposited into your account. When this is done, the only option available for this item would be having it submitted for grading.

If you want to grade an item that is already in your COMC inventory, simply select this item from the Inventory Manager and select Submit for Grading from our actions menu. After clicking on the Beckett Grading Service, you will specify the declared value of the item for insurance purposes. We have both a Monthly service, for $12 + 1% of declared value, as well as a Weekly service, for $25 +1% of declared value. There will be an additional $2 charge for any card with an autograph. You will be able to see when the next group of cards is being sent so that your item can be included with the submission. When the card is returned after grading, it will be rescanned in ultra-high resolution and then deposited back into your account. We are also working towards having an authentication service to enable third-party authentication of in-person autographs.

Regards,

Any plans for a submission promo coming up, or will the next one be at the National in Chicago?

Thanks

Hey everyone,

I wanted to makes sure that people on Blowout see that COMC is heading to New York for the White Plains Show. I will be there along with the Senior Account Manager, Steve Hollander, to spread the word, answer questions, and take feedback.

You should be able to just call them on the phone and arrange for a free $20 off your first submission. If you give them the user name of some COMC seller who turned you onto the site, then that seller will get some sort of bonus if you submit a certain amount of stuff (I think they get $5 when you submit $100).

I finally surpassed selling more than I've purchased on COMC. I think laying off buying cards for Lent is the only reason why though.

If you are a do it all seller (Buying,Flipping,Consigning) I find those numbers irrelevant but congratulations if that was your goal! I aim to get on the biggest buyers list wish I could see exactly where I stand on that.

Can somebody enlighten me on how to send cards to comc? I know there is a .50 fee for taking cards out of plastic ( some cards need protection more than others) which is not a problem but how do you guys protect your shipment. Will they charge you if you put penny slleves in team bag sandwiched between 2 toploads? ect any help is appreciated!

Jamesngin - they charge 5 cents to take cards out of toploaders. They don't charge to take cards out of penny sleeves.

The exception is if you are using the new bulk processing service (10 weeks / at least 100 cards from the same set / at least $100 worth of processing (500 cards) / no thick cards, vintage cards or serial-numbered cards). Then you can't use penny sleeves at all. But you might be able to put piles of cards into team bags, and put the team bags into card boxes.

To submit cards, I usually stuff as many as I can into a 550-count box (with or without penny sleeves), stuff three 550-count boxes into a USPS Medium Flat Rate Priority Box (either shape will do), and then ship.

You can also get about 5 of the 550 count boxes into a USPS Large Flat Rate Priority Box.

Or, for a smaller submission, you can usually fit a 400-count box into a padded USPS Flat Rate Envelope, which is cheaper to ship, but you have to order them from USPS dot com.

Recently, I've also been adding in cards sometimes when I send in batches of comic books.

I just sent in 5 cards for grading. They were uploaded, and I agreed to pay for them to be sent to beckett. However, NOWHERE does it state how the fees for the card grading was determined. I paid 15$ for 2 cards, and 24$ for 3 others. The values and autograph status were the same, so I have no idea where the difference was from. I would appreciate it if a COMC employee on here could help me figure this out. I tried looking everywhere on the site, and didn't see detailed fee descriptions anywhere.

On the main page if you click on user rankings right above the list of biggest sellers, it takes you to another page with several options, you'll see basically 6 boxes of stats, if you look at the bottom 3 you can view all sellers, just got to scroll through some pages to find where you are. That should get to the info your looking for. I know I like to look time to time to see how far down the list I"m falling. Maybe one of these days I'll commit to working my way up the list.
