Default HELP - eBay Item Not Received

It’s finally happened, after like 6 years of purchases, that I might need to file a claim with Paypal for an item not received. I purchased an item on eBay about 2 weeks ago and have had no contact with the seller (I’ve sent multiple messages asking for tracking) – I’m giving it until Saturday to receive and if I haven’t then it’ll be 2 ˝ weeks since payment so I think time to file a claim – am I wrong? Is that too short a time?

Can someone give me the quick and dirty on this?

Do I file through eBay first? Paypal first? Credit card company first? All of the above?

I just want to take the proper steps to be refunded, or at least put pressure on the seller to send, as this was a high end purchase.

Any advice would be great. Thanks

Personally, I wait a month. I give a little more time because most of the pruchases come from the U.S. We have 45 days to open a resolution case.

You can file through Paypal, just find the transaction on Paypal, drill into it and you can file through the site, opening up a resolution case. Very simple process for the victim.

Good luck.

File now. No tracking or communication in two weeks on there is unacceptable.

Please be aware I do buy to resell so I cannot pay retail. I can make it easy, quick, and painless to get you PayPal tho without the headaches.

eBay first? Not on Paypal first?

Any reason? Just curious as I honestly don't know.

Go through ebay, it will automatically proceede to do it through paypal. If you do it though paypal I'm not sure it goes to ebay.

When its an Ebay transaction Ebay Buyer protection is easiest. They contact the Seller if he does not respond within like 7 days you get your money. I have used it and I thought the process to get my money back went smooth and fairly quick. Though waiting on stuff for weeks and no hope of getting it sucks though. With the Buyer Protection on Ebay you always get your money back if you dont receive.

Appreciate it. Thanks man.

To be fair to the seller it will have been 2 weeks on Saturday since I won the auction and paid – so it’s possible it will still arrive today, tomorrow, or Saturday – then it will have been the full 2 weeks since payment was made - but I'll definitely be filing through eBay if I don't have it by Saturday. I know people get busy.

It was marked as “shipped” on eBay but with no tracking - so that's the odd part.

Yeah but still open it. He can then update with a Tracking or respond if he has shipped it. If say you open it now and you receive tomorrow close the case on Ebay done deal. This just gives them the cattle prod to get their butts moving or else . It either envokes a response or the week passes and then the refund process happens. He still has the option of shipping the item and providing Ebay with proof and you could still get the card. That is what the week is for, oppurtunity for him to make right and provide Ebay of proof.
