Default Help - Buying Bubble Mailers in Bulk

Wasn't sure where to ask this, so hope this is the right forum....

Anyways,
I've been selling more cards recently, so it doesn't make sense anymore to keep paying near $1 for bubble mailers buying them as needed. I figure buying in bulk will keep shipping down and I can pass the savings along.

I checked on EBay and Amazon and saw a bunch of listings. The thing is they are brands I haven't used before.......I don't want to purchase 100 or 250 mailers only to find out they're crap......it kind of defeats the purpose.

I thought it was best to ask here. I know there must be plenty on here that buy in bulk and may be able to point me in the best direction of a good value/quality mailer. So I know I'm getting something worthwhile.

Thanks in Advance.

I haven't noticed much difference between brands of bubble mailers. They seem to be pretty much a commodity. The main qualitative difference is usually between plastic mailers and paper mailers.

I generally prefer to get a larger size than I need. The price difference is usually small, and I can often fold the mailer over to make it more protective of the contents, and more likely to comply with USPS's requirement that a "parcel" be at least 3/4 inch thick (and/or "rigid").

I like to get the bigger size to fold in half as well. I get these:

6 x 10" Uline Self-Seal Bubble Mailers #0 S-9985 - Uline

They cost a little bit more, about 20 cents each after shipping.

I just stick a couple decoys or toploaders in the package & usually pushes it over the limit. Also makes the package rigid which also qualifies.

Putting Toploaders or Decoys to secure the card is probably a better idea. Less chances the package will get caught in the machine.

If you guys do a quick eBay search for "4x8 padded envelope 1000" you could find this...

1000 000 4x8 " Valuemailers Brand " Kraft Bubble Mailers Padded Envelopes Bags | eBay

$20 less than the "dirt cheap" listed earlier in this thread. I have never paid more than 7 cents per envelope since I started selling in mass like I am now. GL in your search OP
