Default eBay BIN Hit - Buyer Run Around

I sold a card for $105 on eBay after the BIN was hit last Sunday, October 6. The buyer emails me and says he will pay on Thursday after I hadn't seen payment. I say it's fine (I know buyers have 6 days to pay), and this happens every so often since I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Since I didn't see payment yesterday, I email him and he basically says "I didn't get a chance to pay, we have a holiday up here Monday so I'll probably pay Wednesday". That will have been 10 days since the BIN was hit. Stuff like this drives me insane, especially since the buyer hit the Buy it Now.

Any advice? Should I respond or just issue a NPB on Sunday since it will have been a week?

I'd give him one more warning email and give him like 3-4 more days then if he doesn't respond or send in a payment then report his ass.

Just experienced this....NPB.
No benefit of the doubt.
Hold him accountable.
Good luck.

I had this a lot last week, just let ebay unpaid assistant file and all but 1 paid by the time the case could close.

Open the case to start the clock. They have 4 days once the case is opened.

There's an option to require immediate payment on a BIN. Now if only they'd get it working on the BO side.

This is why I have immediate payment required on my BIN's.

Uh huh...you are the perfect candidate for espousing advice on dirtbag buyers...i.e. sellers!

Just open the case, I find the vast majority of buyers who say they will paay on a certain day never pay.

(I know buyers have 6 days to pay)

They have 6 days to pay if you file a claim on day 2. Otherwise they have when you opened the claim plus 4 days. So if you open it on day 4 they have 8 days to pay.

I decide to avoid spend a lot of time contacting any NPB. After the 3rd day I begin to send the Invoices until the time limit I have in my terms. Then I fill the complaint. As far I can tell if someone doesn't pay in 7 days or a week. He/she will never pay.

When I sell, I wait 7 days, then open a claim, giving the buyer 11 days to pay (I'm very laid back). I have had a couple of buyers pay on days 9 and 10. If it gets to the eleventh day, I don't want them to pay, because at that point I WANT to hit them with a NPB strike. Once that 96 hours is up, BAM! and close the case. Of course, 99% of the items I sell are auctions. For a BIN, I'd be much stricter.
