Default Just allowed my COMC cards to be listed on Amazon

Does it boost sales pretty good?
I could use a spark

I have thought about it...but I would have to adjust a lot of my prices because I don't want everything to be available at 20 percent off....wish we could select certain cards to be on Amazon

It really helps with non-sports, Pokemon, Magic and similar cards.

For sports cards, it's really good for low-to-mid grade vintage, local stars, college stars and such.

My general impression is that the stuff which sells on Amazon is selling to people who normally wouldn't shop in a card shop, or who even know that such a thing as a card shop exists.

Before the Beckett change, Amazon was probably about 10% of my overall sales. During the early days of April, I calculated that Amazon was over 25% of my overall sales. Now, it's probably closer to the historical average.

I just ran through my sales history and found that I sold 84 items on Amazon so far this month, which is about 20% of the total items sold.

data/info on amazon is correct for cards.

so it would be interesting to use that data to figure out how much less is being sold on comc.

My recent sales on Amazon:

1997 Mac Suzuki (baseball) insert
2010 Percy Harvin (football) insert
2002 Alex Rodriguez (baseball) insert
2007 Phil Ford (basketball) base card
2010 Lonnie Shelton (basketball) base card
1992 Steve Young (football) base card
2004 Leeann Tweeden (baseball fan) insert card
1994 Eric Ravotti (football) auto card

That's from today and yesterday.

I lost .10 on my last amazon sale.
Autograph for $0.52 (2009-10 SP
Darnell Jackson) Just me being lazy, But it is tough to reprice 1000's of cards if your already the lowest priced. LOL

Do the promotions/sales you run effect your Amazon prices?

no, amazon is unaffected. The prices remain at your original price.

Yeah, Amazon sales are really good, though it sucks when you sell a card through it that was already at your lowest price and you weren't interested in budging on it. You really feel that 20% on a larger sale. You kinda need to price your stuff with that in mind.

Still, even with this downside in mind, this is something every COMC seller should have activated in their account. I just checked and Amazon was responsible for 13% of my sales last month. That might not seem like a large number, but those Amazon sales were responsible for more than half of the money total I brought in last month, and that's after the 20% cut Amazon takes. That's a somewhat unusual figure, but it's the sort of thing that happens from time to time when you're expanding the amount of places your cards are listed. Anybody cutting themselves off from that is making a pretty big mistake, I think. Worth the extra effort when pricing your cards. Amazon is legit, and people spend real money on there.

Just to chime in, I turned on Amazon sales in March this year as I took a year off selling on COMC. In comparison with those above, out of my last 55 or so sales...Ive had 3 from Amazon (about 1 for every 20).

I dont have a large port of options but I dont see a common pattern other than 2 of them were Cowboys....I think its still great for exposing my small port. By end of year if processing goes well I should have over 1500 listings again and expect an uptick in amazon sales, or I hope so as I auto accept greater than 20% offers as well

Anyone know why the Amazon account has 2 cards available for sale? My guess is possibly returned or a chargeback and rather than putting back in port, COMC manages relisting them...

I think it helps some. Like most things on there, you would be surprised at what sells (and what doesn't). I also keep the auto-accept at the 20% off as well to remind me that I should price my cards accordingly in order to take the discount into account.

Yes 1 out of 20 is closer to a realistic number.

yes definitely about 5 percent ...though I do sell more non sport on amazon.
In may, 33 of 558 sales (5.9 percent) were amazon.

I do think its a great tool though. You never know when someone gets an amazon gift card and decides to buy their favorite player, or even a non collector shopping for a friend.

I like the 15% number, personally that's about right for me. Sold some really random stuff through Amazon but I agree that the non-sport stuff seems to do best.

Here is a small, but good reason to use Amazon through COMC:

I had a card listed at $6 and it sold via Amazon for $4.60 (Fine with me!)

I knew I had multiple copies of the card and thought it was a strong price for the particular insert (even though it is relatively newer). So I checked to see what I was up against on COMC.

Another seller had the card listed at $2.95, but must not have had Amazon enabled. Their loss not mine

I've had like 5-6 sales on amazon since COMC fixed the amazon bug like 2 or 3 days ago!

I am lucky. My cards are priced low so that extra 20% kills my low end. I usually lose money on my autos/memorabilia cards priced under .75. I leave the amazon on for larger priced items. i usually evens out.
