Default Wrong ways to send your cards

YouTube - WRONG WAYS TO SEND CARDS

I hope this vid can be used as somewhat of a template for all collectors out there that trade/sell. Lets all try to make it a little bit easier for each other and follow some of the basic do's and don'ts of this video. It's not that serious, but it can get quite irritating at times, some of the things that are consistently done. Please ignore my irritated voice. I was clearly unhappy when I made this vid.

Use masking tape instead of scotch tape in general....peels right off with no residue left behind.

I actually love your tone throughout the video. Great video, lots of moronic people out there who need a slap in the face in regards to their shipping methods!

I agree with just about everything in the video.

My only exception is tape on toploaders. I'm buying cards, not toploaders, so I could care less if there is tape on it to ensure the card doesn't slide out in transit (and yes, I've received cards that have come out on more than one occasion). I also use a small amount of tape when sending out a rather inexpensive card. As you showed in your video, it's really easy to get the card out without having to try to peel off the tape.

Personally I've never taped a team bag, but I won't fault a seller that does. Again as above, I'm buying the card, not the team bag.

Blowout sells both (team bags and toploaders) at a good price (can probably get both cheap on Ebay too), so if I have to use my own supplies *gasp!* to display my PC, it isn't the end of the world or anything.

x2 on what you said. I am selling the card and not the toploader, team bag, etc. It is my job to get you the card the safest way possible! Well said.

Card -> Penny Sleeve -> Top Loader -> Tape -> Team Bag (sometimes along with extra cardboard)

Use rolled up masking tape on the top loaders....comes off so clean it's as if there was no tape there in the first place.

Team bags cost 2 cents, so who cares if it's ruined

I'd much rather protect my cards when shipping them than make it convenient for the buyer to open and sacrifice protection...

I destroyed a beautiful autographed card trying to get a good scan of it. Cause the seller used clear duct tape on the toploader, and I couldn't get it off with my fingernails. Lukily it was only a $5.00 card or so, but I missed out on a $2.00 ROI because someone used too much tape.

Also, my crux is, use the right sized toploaders, and I hate it when sellers jam 5 cards in a thick toploader so they can save money on toploaders. Or jam a game used card into a thick toploader instead of a super thick toploader like it is supposed to fit in. It is obnoxious that way. I've done that before on cards for my own PC and I regret every bit of it.

I don't see the purpose of using Tape on the top of the toploader if you have a team bag. Isn't the purpose of a Team bag is to keep the card in? Why do you need to keep it in anymore? It seems like you are duplicating the work you have to get done.

I did that too, I think it was the Gerhart Elite RC I got. The top was taped shut, so I slid my fingernail through the tape, and ended up denting the foil on the top edge

If you put a card in a penney sleeve, toploader, then a team bag, WHY WOULD YOU USE TAPE!!?? You don't need it. I understand that your selling the card and not the toploader, but why waste them?? If your really worried, just wrap the card in an invoice, the thing will never move. I've sent thousands of cards without taping a single toploader (always use team bags), and I've never, not once, had someone complain about damage. You can buy a pack of 100 team bags for a buck, it's a no brainer.
