So I was so pissed off after my crappy 2011 Panini NT box, I decided that if I bought any more, it would be the older Playoff years. When these went up on sale (2 are from BO, the last 2 they had) I decided to toss caution to the wind and see what I could get. Since I am a HOFer junkie (see my 240+ Goal Line Arts and my team HOF helmets in my bucket) I figured I had a decent chance to be happy with these, despite the rookie class being by and large nothing to write home about. To the breaks:
We'll start off with the base cards...very nice. 2 HOFers, one old school: ![]() ![]() ![]() Next we have jersey/patch, where I really think I hit it out of the park on these 3 boxes. All are HOFers. First, the Canton Classics, including a couple of prines, a Largent jersey number patch and a Joiner 3 color: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then we have the NFC/NFL cards, one of Rice and one old school: ![]() ![]() I also got one quad, a nice one with 3 Rams HOFers: ![]() And...finally...one of the sweetest jumbo Marino patches you will ever see: ![]() Now onto the autos...first we have an "eh" silver: ![]() Then we have a rookie auto, but it is Delanie Walker, which I guess isn't terrible: ![]() Then I got 2 RPAs (or what were RPAs in 2006)...both look seweet, but the players unfortunately leave something to be desired: ![]() ![]() Then we had a DeAngelo Williams historical cut (he's a rookie, how that's historical is, well, not clear): ![]() Finally we get to the HOFers, and I got 5, 3 of which are really sweet, and 2 of which (Krause, Kelly) are multi-color prime: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() All in all, I didn't do too badly I don't think. I didn't get the "ba-ZING" card necessarily, though the Marino, Kelly, and LT are pretty nice ones, and I think the cards are by and large good ones. I give it a B, but since most cards are HOFers, I am happy, even if they aren't the bigger named guys. I probably won't sell or trade immediately, I will revamp my bucket and go from there, but some of these eventually will be available, I just don't know which ones yet. Thanks for looking.

Pretty nice boxes. Definitely a lot of nice HOFers and you should do VERY well with that Marino.
When they do become available, I would be interested in the Krause! Make sure to hit me up. Would be a nice upgrade for my PC.

When the heck was Jerry Rice wearing pants with holes in the mesh???
Thanks for posting. Love seeing the older product breaks!

Stop buying Panini products. Just stop. If you post another thread complaining about how bad your box of Panini 'whatthehellever' was, just bash your face into a 2x4 with rusty nails sticking out. Buying their products is about just as smart.

If you are willing to move both Steve Largents, Jerry Rice and Willis McGahee, please let me know.

nice hits, I notice one issue with the Rice card though, and its not the first time I have noticed it (on different cards), it says 2 patches are from a jersey and the middle patch is supposed to be from his pants. Right? Just my personal experience but I have never seen a pair of NFL pants that were made with that same mesh type material that some of the jerseys are made from. I could be wrong as I havent seen every pair of pants up close, but would you wear a pair of pants filled with holes like that in front of 50K people?
