with redemptions there should not be any, have gotten numerous redemptions and a lot of them were way more high end from all major companies and never had to pay a dime.

leaf told me that they indeed made a mistake and from now one charges wont be brought to overseas collectors .

He didn't buy anything, so why should he be paying taxes for something he already owns but they just couldn't put it into the product?

Absolutely

He didn't buy a lottery ticket where you're not guaranteed anything, he's guaranteed whatever comes in the box, just because what came in his box didn't physically fit inside the box, he shouldn't have to pay extra to then get that item.

Frankly I don't know, but I just don't see why he should have to pay for something that he technically already owns and didn't have to pay for, it was just being shipped to him.

Well, I agree - I've never been a fan of the import fees. However, the import laws are made by the individual countries. More than likely, Leaf "declared" the value of the item they sent - and probably insured it (due to it's value). That's the legal and proper way to send the package. Leaf was nice enough to pay the taxes, but it really wasn't their responsibility or fault.
