Default 2012 Crown Royale early release?

Hey all,

Walmart by me has about 10 boxes of 2012 Crown Royale.

I'm debating trying a cheap rip & flip (2-3 boxes) since it isnt supposed to be released until Friday.

Aside from the usual "its retail, dont bother" and "its Panini, dont bother", does anyone have an opinion for what I should do?

The only reason I'm even asking is so that I can blame someone for my failure or congratulate myself for my monster pulls... lol

Only thing that appears guaranteed is a rookie relic and unless you get a big time rookie likely not going to get much in return.

Panini retail is a joke. Not worth it.

I bought a rack pack to check it out. Figured $5 is something I could lose. The cards look and feel cheap and the inserts aren't too nice either. Didn't get a hit, but from what I saw I wouldn't waste my money on retail or hobby. Here's my inserts for reference.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR TALKING ME OFF THE LEDGE!!! lol

I guess I was blinded by the thought of that big RG3 or Luck hit before the hobby product came out.

Glad there's some people out there looking out for the dumbasses like me

We get people saying don't judge a product by one box or one case. Now we get a thumbs down for an entire product due to one retail rack pack????

Ooooookayyyyy.

I think mostly this thread is referring to retail Crown, not Hobby.

Retail crown has NOTHING in it, I bought a couple rack packs, not one rookie, just flimsy base, and the normal 4 veteran inserts. Saw someone else open a blaster and get nothing also.

Then yea, he shouldnt have said that. Retail sucks, but what's new with Panini.

Alrhough the last two Crown releases, even though they look good, are still both far lower than their starting price. This stuff shouldn't be $100 a box, $75 is more correct. Even 2011 with a strong class is at $65 right now on Blowout.

Thanks for taking something I said completly out of context. I was not complaining about no hit, just mentioning no hit. If you'll look at what I said before that "the cards look and feel cheap and the inserts weren't great" is why I wouldn't bother with the product in hobby or retail. So please spare me the high almighty attitude and actually read what I wrote before commenting on my opinion.

Completely out of context? How was it out of context? My original post said nothing about you not getting a hit. You did say that people shouldn't waste their time on the product, either hobby or retail, based off what you got out of your pack. I read, and understood, what you wrote. The person I was replying to thought we were only talking about retail, but I bolded the part where you brought up hobby, too.

Just shows how these boards have changed so much over the last few years. Used to be case breaks and multi-box breaks, info that would let you really get a feel for a product. Now we have people who know it all based off opening one freaking pack of retail.

How about you go back to Walmart and get one pack of each product they have and then let us all know what to, and not to, buy? That would be a huge help to everyone here. I'm anxiously awaiting your product reviews.

Oh, now I'm so confused! Please, please, someone buy a third rack pack to break the tie.

Again, you still take the whols thing out of context then now defend it. You highlighted me saying I didn't get a hit and that was why I didn't recommend the product. I SAID THE CARDS LOOKED AND FELT CHEAP! It's not that hard to read and understand. You keep bringing up the quantity I bought as not enough and I have no idea what that has to do about my observation of cheap quality cards. Are you trying to tell me the card stock in my next rack pack is going to be better and the base cards will have been redesigned? I just don't get your non understanding of such a simple comment. Why don't you go waste your money on a couple of cases and see how cheap others find them when you don't make half your money back selling them off.

Check my ebay and comc links to see how much I care about making my money back. Your whole point is to give a thumbs down based on one pack. How is the card stock on the silouettes? The patches? The autos? You know, the stuff people want? Nobody wants the crap-ass inserts you showed us anyway. Plus, another person already posted on here that he'll make his money back plus some on his rack pack. But you don't see him telling everyone to buy multiple cases of Crown because of it. But I guess he isn't the expert on the subject like you are.

I can't believe that people have had to read 6,000+ posts of this garbage you appear to post. I'm glad you feel I'm an expert on the subject, although you must feel you're a bigger expert since you seem to disagree with my opinion. The card stock of the cards I received is by far one of the worst I've ever seen and the design on the cards is hideous. I'm not sure what the card stock has to do with the poor design that you seem to keep ignoring in my posts. For some reason you seem to keep focusing on only part of what I say instead of taking the entire opinion in as a whole. I can only hope the card stock is better on autos and patches as it can't get much worse. I know nobody cares about the crap inserts, which is why I showed them because they are the best looking cards of the set from what I've seen online and in person. I have no interest in checking your sales sites. I wouldn't deal with a person like you on a sale or trade. It's clear you're an antagonist who feels they have everything about the hobby in check.

Anyone that reads just the highlighted part would agree with you. It's when you actually read the entire thought as a whole that the opinion is taken properly. I'm going to take the high road and end my part in this ridiculous back and forth. Have a Happy New Year.
