Topps Chrome Hobby Boxes off ebay - To buy or not to buy

I'm thinking buying these off ebay these single boxes that are offered are from guys who most likely broke open cases, got some great hits, or got the prism, or whatevere else comes 1 per case and are selling off the remaining boxes thinking there is a high probability they are mediocre boxes?? Or could they be from guys who just bought cases at the pre-sale price and are trying to just spin a small profit? I don't have a hobby shop close by to buy these from, so the internet would be my only option.

What's everybody's take on this?

I would shoot the sellers a message and see what they did- broke a few, got the case hit, and are selling the rest, or just selling the case for a profit.

Well, no offense, but they are asking about $15 more than the average of about $120/box. I was eyeballing their sealed rack pack case, and I know I wouldn't be guaranteed 2 autos like I would if I bought 2 hobby, but with my luck the autos would be nothing but set separators in my monster boxes anyways.

I'd check the sellers feedback and see if anyone has said what they've pulled from boxes they bought from that seller. I've bought a box of Finest and pulled a red refractor Luck auto 15/25. So I've had good experiences from buying off ebay.

I never buy single boxes off ebay..just never trust anyone. Sad to say but I have seen/heard too many horror stories.

No website just does eBay stuff not too many people around here buys in bulk I do when I have it

I sell single boxes on Ebay, and I don't search cases. Sometimes we don't get rid of all our inventory at our shows etc, so we just throw them on there. Not all hobby boxes are searched just because they're on Ebay.

Yeah, but it's just too bad that it doesn't take long for the greed to set in before everyone starts jacking up the prices. It would be nice to get an honest deal on a couple of boxes - it's only been a couple of months. A couple of years from now 90% of it or more will be worthless.

bought into chrome at 53.00 Sold it for 75.00 + shipping.. just trying to make a little bit, I hate to see thee prices go up so much!
