Default Ebay Auction Has Me Stumped ( my own )

So everything went on ebay from my Crown Royale case break, about the worst break ive ever had and it actually sold very well. Anyway my 4th highest selling card, sold for $3 less than a Dez Bryant AU was this card

Marc Mariani Blue RC ( non AU ) 053/100 7th RD pick from Montana to the Titans

$47 and the guy has paid

WTF!!!

Am I missing something here, I consider myself pretty football savy and I've never heard of this guy. Someone shed some light on this.

It was probably Mariani who bought it... In all seriousness I'm sure its some Montana fan who's happy to have an NFL player.

I had a buddy sell some Mariani's and they went for nutso prices. He must have a HUGE cult following from college or it's relatives, etc.

Must be, is he the first Montana player to get drafted cuz it takes 2 people bidding. I could understand if it was 1/1 or /5 but geez theres 100 of them. Anywho guess I can't complain to much, hope I pull his 1/1 in Certified.

He doesn't have a lot of good rookie cards yet and he is having a great year as a return man for the Titans.

take a look at Mariani's completed items, alot of his rookies are selling high...like someone stated earlier, hes having a great year as a kickoff returner....minus a costly fumble

ESPN just had a feature about him 2 weeks ago. It talked about his huge following in Montana and how his hometown meets up at the local bar every week to watch Titans games. It was a really good story.

I live in Missoula, Montana (home of the Montana Grizzlies where Mariani played). Fans here are very loyal to and very proud of the Griz. They are the closest thing we have to professional sports in the whole state. I wouldn't be surprised at all if someone from Missoula bought the card.

I watch football every Sunday at a local watering hole. Mariani had a kickoff return for a TD against Denver a few weeks back and the place went nuts. It was pretty cool. People here are really happy to see a kid from Montana doing well in the NFL since it doesn't happen all that often.

Jeff Fischer's son plays for the Griz. Fischer comes to games from time to time so it's no wonder Mariani wound up with the Titans.

I don't know all of them but there are a handful of ex-Griz in the NFL at the moment. I think one plays d-line for the Falcons and is having a decent year as well.
