2011 draft prospects

Was just thinking, who would be some top players picked in next years draft. I came up with these players IMO (top 3) :

1. Andrew luck
2. Patrick peterson
3. A.j. Green

What do you guys think ? I hope cowboys can somehow draft peterson, we can use him since newman is getting old and isn't performing great, and jenkins looks like he doesn't try hard enough to make plays and he causes a lot of penalties.

1st round possibles- (my personal preference would be RB, but its looking like CB)

26. GB Packers: Mike Pouncey, G/C, Florida - this is from NewNFLDraft.com, i really didnt like their mock draft
Ryan Williams RB - some sites have this, i would like this choice the most!






2nd round (i personally would like a RB if we dont get one in round 1)
DeMarco Murray, RB, Oklahoma

I would like to see the Lions pick up a solid DB or pass rusher. Someone in thr secondary if they arent able to toughen their current players now.

the Cowboys need a safety. period. Newman is fine, we just need a solid safety to go along side of Sensabaugh

I think the cowboys need to work on their defense 1st :

1. Get a lineman or two
2. Get a new safety & CB

Then work on offense even though we don't need much, maybe a lineman and a RB. And I've been thinking, kitna is getting old so he might retire after this year .. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea if we tried to draft a QB just in case romo doesn't come back full strength, maybe somewhere after the 3rd round.

@ yankeesfan : yeah safety is a priority, I don't think sensabaugh is that great to be honest. Newman has a couple years left in him I'd say but jenkins needs to step his game up. But we can always use another good CB for 3 receiver sets.

lol, do you watch the Cowboys at all? our OL is fine, and will hold up for another year or two. Montrae Holland filled in great so far this year. we need IMMEDIATE help at Safety if we want to be a playoff team next year

and we do not need a RB at all. we already have 3 studs (Barber, Felix, Choice), plus Lonyae Miller, who is on our practice squad looked solid in the preseason.

as far as QB goes, dont forget about Stephen McGee. he had major improvements from last preseason compared to this one. he looked comfortable out there and made some nice throws.

we also do not need help at WR, as we have Ogletree on the practice sqaud. we could use a Center if we can get a solid one in the 4th round or later, but i wouldnt mind taking safeties with the 1st 2 picks.

Scandrick is a GREAT 3rd corner, probably one of the best 5 3rd corners in the league.

we also have AOA, who althought is raw, can be a huge help and can play both corner and safety.

we also have Bryan McCann, who can develop as a corner, although his primary role is KO/P return

the only other option i see us going after is a DE, but that is only if Spears leaves in FA

That's just my opinion, we can never have to much good players. Most of our picks will be for the defense most likely and with our 1st pick, I think we will probably pick up a DE, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to take peterson or another top CB like akukamaru if they are still available, peterson could possibly make a great FS.

I say the cowboys need atleast 1 CB and 1 Saftey Sensabaugh is not great but with better play he might not be so bad we def need a De to we arent getting much pressure on the QB this year which is making our Secondary look even worse

yeah, you can. i dont want to put up with all of the drama about who gets credit and PT. its better to draft what we need rather than another WR

the Spears injury affects out pass rush a lot. he is an underrated player, and really opened up the door for sacks for the LB on his side (whether it be Ware or Spencer)

The Cowboys are gonna screw around and get about 7 wins and get like the 12-15 pick. I doubt we can get Peterson but I wouldn't mind

can i ask you 2 questions..and not trying to be rude..but the 1st answer will most definately explain a lot

1-How old are you? you apparantly just started posting and they all seemed very jumbled and incoherent

2-Do you know anything about what you post about? are you talking about in terms of overall ability who are the top names or in terms of collectability? because in terms of ability you have left off 2 top DE (Bowers, Dareus) and Amukamara isnt that far off a drop off from Peterson..not too mention Locker and Mallet

i also ask this because you say:

1st post-you hope they draft peterson cuz Newman is old and Jenkins doesnt try
2nd post-you say get a linemen or 2, then safety then CB
3rd post-you do a complete 360 from both posts and say you agree Safety is a priority and completely turn around form your original post and say Newman has a couple years left..which is it?

then once again you completey change and say i think with our first pick were getting a DE..pick one and stay with it for crying out loud

im not trying to bash you, but pointing this out to help you because it doesntl ook good when you cant keep your own opinion straight

as for the Cowboys, as someone already said i see them anywhere form the 7-12 range so Peterson and Amukamara are likely out which probably leave you looking at Nick Fairley DE/DT Auburn, Allen Bailey DE/DT Miami, Robert Quinn DE NC, Janoris Jenkins CB FLorida

as far as my Bills..it was interestingly brought up on Walterfootball-great site not only for mock drafts by the way-that they could go with Dareus in the 1st and possibly trade back into 1st round or wait to early 2nd round and grab Cam Newton..i like that idea

@ vincesanity : we still got the colts and eagles left so those are the top games remaining that are going to be tough.

@ cdub : I'm just trying to weigh some options. And im talking about overall ability, I only listed 3 players that In my mind are the top 3 players available. Akukamara will most likely get picked in the top 8. Locker isn't a top 10 pick in my eyes and mallett will probably be taken outside the top 10 too.

I hope SD takes a defensive stud. Philips is beast, so is cooper, I'd love to see a DE rusher that requires the attention like a Demarcus Ware. Either way I think SD needs to focus on defense not offense.

I hate that they're projecting the Bills will take AJ Green. I can understand why they're doing that because of the Bills ability to go against common sense but damn, there are much more pressing needs.
