I seriously can't believe this poll is 50/50... I mean Utah had a better argument 2 years ago and nobody would have made a case for them. What because TCU beat a team that was very average this year? I mean Wisconsin has no history as a football power and probably never will with Nebraska coming into the conference. I guess this should be expected with a board full of teenages voting who probably only watch the talking heads on the 4 letter.

the very good big ten that hasnt won a bowl game, sry this time of year is when we all see how over rated the big ten is

Don't really see the point of the discussion until after the National Championship game gets played, because this could all be a moot point if one of the teams totally dominates the other.

But in my mind, to even be in the discussion, TCU had to have an impressive win over an overrated Big 10 Wisconsin team. TCU didn't, so there's no discussion.

And no, even if TCU had been in the Big East, it wouldn't have changed my mind.

According to your logic, better go back and give half to Utah. Come on get real. Atleast they will be playing in a semi legit conference now. Lets see how they fair on the road vs the likes of WVA, Pitt, UCONN, ect

thats right, every1 that won everygame should be rewarded a piece....if your not gonna have a playoff any team that wins all their games should get a piece...no matter if they play pop warner teams or nfl teams

Seattle is going to get flat out destroyed by the Saints...

Wait - you're telling me Seattle won?

So all the people saying that TCU has no shot at beating Auburn are full of crap?

Got it.

Jumping on this a little late, but I'll first disclose that I'm a huge TCU homer (alum).

Look, I'm not complaining that TCU should be given a share of the national title this year ... they didn't play near the schedule that Auburn did. Having said that, from personally watching Auburn play 4 games, could TCU beat them? Absolutely. Especially after watching the Championship game.
  • TCU's defense without a doubt is MUCH stronger than both Auburn and Oregon's defense. If you don't agree, you are no doubt one of the many that has not watched TCU play this year (and just watching the Rose Bowl doesn't count).
  • All the talk of ABC beat DEF, who beat GHI is nothing but reaching and just shows ignorance of the game. Auburn needed a last-play field goal against Kentucky, who was 3-6 against non-MAC/Sun-Belt & Big South teams.
  • Stating with any authority that TCU would not beat Oklahoma easily shows that somebody has not watched TCU play. I live in the heart of Big 12 in Dallas, and almost anybody who knows anything here has acknowledged that TCU is clearly better than OU this year.
  • After watching the bowl games, it seems to be pretty clear that anybody who is STILL bashing TCU is more than likely somebody who has not seen them play (perhaps they saw the Rose Bowl - but now want to discount Wisconsin), and are only people who long-before decided that ANYBODY from a non-AQ doesn't belong with the big boys. Don't forget that MANY of the national media thought/speculated that if there was a playoff system, that Wisconsin would definitely be a team to watch based on their end-of year (and entire year) performance.
  • The fun part? TCU has done this with nowhere near the talent of the big BCS schools. They already are getting quality recruits/commitments that they have NEVER had before in terms of national recognition. On the other hand, next year will probably be a down year for them -- graduating one of the best QBs in the nation and nearly their entire offensive line, among other key starters. Regardless, the future looks interesting based on the fact they'll have so much more talent in the future than they've had before.
