Default Aaron Rodgers/Cancer patient follow-up

The other thread I can't find (deleted?), but here's the follow up to the 5 second clip that made everyone and their grandmother decide Aaron Rodgers is a horrible human being.

It's much better to know the whole story about something before formulating your opinion.

It was kinda hard to swallow that Rodgers could actually be so cold-hearted seein how it's the people (fans) who make football & their teams so great & that the teams are so involved within their communities & other charitable organizations. Thanks for bringing us the facts!!!

I am waiting for all the haters to come in and apologize for the bashing that went on in the first thread... *crickets*

It was a good read. Thanks for the post!

I still dont know the whole story, for all anyone knows this is just damage control from.....Cheesehead TV......they are stating that Jan got an autograph and got to talk to ARod the week prior and there saying it as a FACT....confounds me why they wouldnt get a quote from her corobarating this??FACT?? In the clip her husband states that he and his wife were there a week before and he got almost 20 autos it seems all a bit fishy that she would say in the same clip, that all she wants is "An" ARod auto if she just got one the week prior. imjustsaying

Yeah, don't hold your breath. Just like all the fake patch or shill bid threads, everyone who jumped on the hate train will remain silent when proof to the contrary is provided.

I love Aaron Rodgers as a player (and I'm a Bears fan) but ever since he shaved the porn-stach I've been indifferent about him as a person. I don't really see how that changes things too much from the last thread though. Weather he knew about the cameras or not he clearly saw them and still failed to put on a show for them and the media. I understand it from a personel perspective but from a public image it was a mistake and there's no denying that. I don't think this article posted changes things too much but I didn't read the whole thing to be honest, just skimmed and tried to find where the defense came in. Didn't see too much of one. I know that regardless if he's a dick or not, there's at least 29 teams that would love to have him as their starter!

you should have finished the article. it was reiterated that it was a mistake for him not to sign for her (again) and it was a mistake for the PR guy to get in the way. Just like it was a mistake for Mike Florio to put out a baseless article, and it was a mistake for the television station to put out a video like that without more of an explanation. It was also a mistake for everyone to jump to their own conclusions. seeing a pattern here?

I'm not exactly sure where this article from CHEESEHEAD TV proves anything...but maybe that's just me.

Yeah, I can't understand why they wouldn't get into contact with her in between cancer treatments to get more facts about this non-story.

Should they also ask her why she keeps going back for more autographs? Should they get her Ebay ID? imjustsaying

Similar as to how I'm not sure how a 5 second video clip with no facts proves anything to the contrary. That's the point.

I suppose proof is a strong word, but it is obvious that there was an ulterior motive to the original video...

Cause news doesn't have to be facts anymore, just as long as it catches attention and makes a headline

If a picture tells a thousand words a five second video clip tells alot

very good point, it is pretty disgusting that news media has evolved into this.

I still don't see how that really proves anything though. I get that it was a mistake for him to ignore everyone and it was a mistake for the PR guy to get in the way but those kind of PR mistakes are exactly what the PR guy is paid to avoid. I still don't think this article really clears up, disproves or changes anything. Just like I don't really think the original article means Rodgers is a terrible human being, both seem pretty pointless to me.

the news station initially didn't see fault with the video, but the story was poorly covered and they ended up making Rodgers look bad because of it. nobody would have even seen the video and taken it that way had mike florio not written the article. he's the one with the ulterior motive.

I agree, Florio seems like an idiot. I think a lot of people, especially on here, formed their opinion of Rodger's based solely on the video, and not Florio's article. I didn't see his article.

Exactly. But check the original thread, and you'll see how people reacted. It's a contrived story to garner reaction. It worked in that respect. There's a lot more proof to the contrary of Rodgers being a bad guy based on all of the non-publicized work he does in the community.

word of mouth, or keyboard in this case. you would have never seen the video if someone else hadn't of read the article.

Why is it so hard to believe that a news agency, home town or not, would jump all over the chance to make national news. They may not have done their homework, but I am not naive enough to think they would pass on a story just because it puts a hometown hero in a bad light.
