Default Aaron Rodgers SP Authentic 1/1

Wonder what this will end up at, funny how they started auction at 3,999.99 with a raw card and had no bids for a while and then the card is shown slabbed as a BGS 9.5/10 auto and it is up to 7k.

Why would any bidder post a bid with over 6 days remaining for 4k as the initial bidder did, it personally turns me away from auctions like these even though it is a dream card. Sorry if this has been brought up already.

2005 SP Authentic AARON RODGERS RC NFL Shield AUTO 1/1 - eBay (item 360339752780 end time Feb-03-11 20:00:04 PST)

Funny how it graded gem mint with 10 auto on a 1/1 and like all of his sp authentic /99 have 9 auto that have come on ebay, funny how that works.

Yeah, that is a nice card. I can't believe it's already over 7k.

The card is from someone over on the beckett site. I don't remember if the card has changed hands, but I do know the original owner was pissed that he got this card. The original owner had pulled a redemption for a 1/1 SPA NFL logo of another player and UD couldn't fulfill it so they sent the Rodgers 1/1 instead.

Was the card graded when Beckett obtained it? If not, its totally shady how they graded their own card a 9.5 w/ 10 auto when it is very rare to see a SPA grade higher than 9.

You're crazy. Selling cards you graded yourself while also running a magazine pricing cards isn't a conflict of interest!

Yeah. He pulled the Cedric Benson redemption.

I'm sure he's still devastated about getting crappy Aaron Rodgers instead

Well if upper deck sent it t him as a replacement then it shoulda been sent in mint condition , i don't think it will be odd for a card sent directly from the company to grade high? would ppl quit hatin. If u can't afford it then move on

It is not a matter of not affording it, but the corners on that card are below mint 9. Just a joke a company co-signs cards to sell and gives them favorable grades to help them make more money off the sell.

Last I knew this card belonged to a guy in Newport Maine. He bought it off Ebay several years ago for $550. He literally spent thousands buying Aaron Rodgers auto's from 2005 - 2007. He swore up and down he was going to be rich.

I know he owned it as of June 2010 when he had it on display at a card show at the local mall. At that time he said he had turned down a $1700 offer.

Not sure of his Ebay name but that is his bucket. Pretty much all his money has gone into cards for the past few years, he (was) by no means rich just spent everything on cards. He is going to make some serious money on this one but I doubt it will come even close to what he has spent in the last 5 years.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into anything bad for him, he is a really nice guy who loves the hobby.

The fact that Beckett sells cards and runs a price guide is the biggest conflict of intrest I have ever seen. Whos to say that if they know they have a certin card coming in that they are gonna auction off, that in the price guide the month before the auction they dont jack it up in price. Shadyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
