I see too many boxes that would retails for around $100's maybe even $80. Not sure about this product. It would have been nice to have seen Grange, Baugh, Thorpe, Bronko, Graham, Rockne, or even Luckman. I think Topps might have missed though boat on this one for Football. But that is my opinion.

Will it be like top notch baseball star like $500-1000 or will it only be $200 like Tony Gwynn or Reggie Jackson.
If the Brady is a 1/1 auto then it will prob go for $400-600...no auto it will probably just break $200. Thinking if the price point is lowered it will be a good break.

One good thing I see from the sell sheets, is there are 5 autos per case, wasnt baseball only 4, or am I wrong there?
This def wont have the resale baseball does cause even the best pull, (Payton?) would not pull half what JD, or others in baseball, let alone Mantle or Ruth!
Cards def look nice, but not at 200+ a piece.

Topps should have dug deep and added some Baugh/Starr/Thorpe

Baseball was 5 per case I believe.

This will have some good initial hype but will die down if the price is above $200/box. Unless McFadden and Ryan have a killer season up to that point, there's too many duds that would keep me from a one and done break.

Lets compare football and baseball 2008 ok.
Baseball has all hall of fame players, 4 HUGE hobby attrations (Ruth, Mantle, Ted Williams, Joe D) and I am probably overlooking a lot of the other guys, then there are 10 legends that will easily sell for $200-300 a box, and then the "bad" guys will sell for $110 a box at the lowest.
Now football....same $2200 per case ZERO huge attractions, a lot of $200-300 boxes, but no high end boxes. If the case value stays the same, 5 autos per case, 1 1/1 per case, this will be worse then any UD product. Maybee Topps can add 2 premimum hits per box, not sure what they could do....baseball rocks, football like I said is all about the team not the players....players are forgotten in the NFL not in baseball.

LOl.... k well scratch what I said...

Is it me, or by looking at the upcoming releases dont the pre-sell prices seem higher than they have in years past? Is it because of the strong rookie class they are counting on? Only been 2 weeks folks!!

Contenders is almost 1300 a case, I cant recall buying it before for over 1200 in pre-sell..... usually 1140...........

Well if people pre-order the cases the companies really don't care..........but once it goes on ebay it shows the true value. Look at what happened to TTT baseball. But I really think Topps is trying to push this sterling product, they knew I was a good buyer of their cases and when they wronged me on one of my cases they really made up for it by giving me half a case.......and it worked. I am so pre-ordering like 5-10 cases of 2008 sterling and I am really looking forward to that. However if football does not lower their prices I will have to wait for the prices to lower on ebay.

my question is are all the jersey pieces going to be multi-colored(or even just several colored pieces in the names) or is it going to end up like topps triple threads where you get those lovely all white team names? other than that the product looks amazing, just not too sure on the small box.also is each base card a jersey card or an actual base card?
