Whats the deal with Davis telling him that the remainder of the contract was not going to be honored? I though that coaches had deals that were guaranteed money? I don't see Lane doing anything to breech the contract, so what gives?

Rumor has it, Aikman and investors bought 30% of the Raiders.... Hopefully it is a step towards the old guy getting out.......

Davis tried that stunt before and got sued by the coach and had to pay up. He's washed up and the league has passed him by. Do the proud fans of that team a favor and step away from making any decisions for the franchise that has become the laughing stock of professional sports. Lane will be a good coach some day. He'll be a coordinator next year.

He did it to Shanahan and he is still fighting for his money. That is why he held the long press conference to talk trash and show documentation that the guy did not do his job. I had to turn it off for fear that my 3 year old would be scarred for life, man that guy is ugly. Looked like he had vaseline in his eyes.

Al Davis is just a mystery to me, he goes out and spends hundreds of millions in washed up players but cheapens out on his coach, wow what a original plan to ruin your franchise...

No good coach in their right mind would take the Raiders coaching job knowing how much control Davis has

Ya they picked up Javon Walker who almost died before playing a game with Oakland...Deangelo Hall who had 2 back to back unsportsmanlike penalties in the 1st week....by all means they need new coaches....ownership...an O-Line...WR's and a QB....I couldnt name you 2 WR's or OL's on that team...and JaMarcus indeed like Lane said, was not a good pick....whatever happened to the good ol days where Gannon was QB and Rice and Brown were the WR's...damn....and that Press Conference today by Al Davis was like watching a guy coming back from the dead and trying to run a business...im ashamed for even watching it lol

The only man in the NFL that I feel could get that team and organization right....is in Miami

The Big Tuna wouldn't even think about taking the job but, he could at least talk some logic into the old warped head of Al Davis (I think).

Al Davis wants to hire young guns so he can control them....He's good at picking them but he must not really want to see them do well, at least not as a Raider. Weird weird old man!
