I was going to make another "With the next pick in the ____ draft..." thread but going over the QB class of 2008 it pretty much comes down to only two guys. You need a QB so who would you rather have?

Id have to go flacco on this one. Im impressed with the way he has played the past few years and he has shown that he can be a threat in the playoffs each year.
I really like Matt Ryan as well, but i would have to choose flacco.

Ryan for me. He has that killer instinct and is called Matty Ice for a reason. He's one of the best pure pocket passers in league. I do like Flacco too and think he's vastly under rated, but I'd take Ryan over him.

I really thought the voting would be closer than it is. Other QBs from this class: Brian Brohm, Chad Henne, Kevin O'Connell, John David Booty, Dennis Dixon, Josh Johnson, Erik Ainge, Colt Brennan, Andre Woodson, Matt Flynn, Alex Brink, Caleb Hanie.

IMO Flacco is a little better and has a better shot at getting deeper in the playoffs any year and this is from a Steelers fan.

Flacco has never shown me anything, one of the most overrated QBs I can think of to date. Not to mention one of the most over valued QBs in the hobby. Put Tom Brady on that team and they are a legit contender with that D.

I think Ryan is better, Flacco has more sucess because his team is better especially defense. You put Ryan on the Ravens I bet they wouldn't of blown a 3 TD lead against the Steelers in the playoffs. I still like Joe and think he has big upside and he's from DE where I live lol

Their stats are similar. Ryan is better in some categories, Flacco is better in others. What it comes down to is winning. Can anyone tell me off the top of their head how many TD passes Peyton Manning threw the year they won the SB? Probably not. Flacco has gotten better each year he's been in the league and has taken the Ravens to the playoffs and won at least 1 game in each of his first 3 seasons while Ryan has failed to win 1 playoff game. Being a Ravens fan of course I'm going to say Flacco but honestly they are both great QB's and will both be in the top 10 in the league for years to come.
Just wanted to say that the Ravens defense is not what it once was. The argument that the 'D' is the reason behind Flacco's success is not valid. Hell, look at the game vs. Atlanta last year, Flacco goes on a long drive and hits Heap for a TD with just over a minute left and the defense blows it even though it should have been a penalty on Roddy White.

I also think Bradford will be better than both Ryan and Flacco as well. |

As much as I love Flacco (watched him at UD), I'd rather have Ryan. Both are impressive talents and should have solid careers.

you should make a with the first pick in the draft for the 2009 draft with the top 10 players from that year and see who people now would of taken first overall
