I put them in binders but any duplicate base cards or inserts go into penny sleeves before going into large 4 row boxes.

I have a 2500-capacity box on a shelf where I have them, but I have no idea what to do with them. I'm thinking about just buying the cards I want piecemeal from now on and not busting boxes. It'll probably actually cost less, and won't have stacks of cards I don't want.

So you guys that are saying boxes but voting "other": ya'll just put them in the boxes unsleeved, naked? Seems like they would get damaged that way.

My vote is posted...but once they get to my sorting process, they are all sleeved, sorted, and placed into 5000 ct boxes.

Those throwing them away make me cringe as I'd at least pay for the shipping!

Only time they get damaged is when they fall off the shelf

It depends. If it is a set I'm building, like last year when I put together 2010 Topps, they go in the box in penny sleeves. If they're just random base cards from packs but I have no intention of building that set, yeah I just put them in there 'naked.' The box doesn't move, and so there is very little real risk of them getting damaged.

My Crown Royale set I'm building though, all of them are in toploaders. Inexpensive toploaders, of course, but still.

same here.

One day I will cherry pick all the hall of famers and all stars, make player boxes and give the rest away. But who has time for that. Maybe when I am retired.

I think I need a bigger house.

when I break boxes at the LCS I just leave my base with the owner, sometimes I just bring my base to him. It really is worthless, why store 5000 cards that are together worth maybe $20? Rather see them get donated by my LCS to someone who appreciates them more then I do.
