Default Would you block a bidder if...?

Would you block a bidder if they were known to message sellers after EVERY auction offering an off- eBay deal for an auction they just lost?

The reason I ask is sort of a long story:

In the last year I've been monitoring a person on eBay after a business dealing I had with them. After conversing with several eBay sellers at the end of auctions that this person bid on, I've found out that without fail, this person will message the seller offering more than final price, trying to screw the winning bidder. To date no seller has refused answering my question, and they've always kept the eBay sale good. And yes, EVERY auction the person has lost, they do in fact ask the seller to sell it to them.

I've also found this same eBay user when they DO win stuff, they immediately list it for a higher price (which is well within their rights) with your standard run of the mill eBay story of how "unique" and "special" their card is.

In the business dealing I had, I sold them a BGS 9 card valued at $10 raw for about $22.50 (The previous 4 weeks they were offering me $7.00 for it since it wasn't selling, then all of a sudden someone else bid on it and a bidding war ensued). Upon receipt of the card, the user listed it for $700.00 and told a story of how it's rarer than a Honus Wagner card .

So I've been monitoring the user as more or less as a case study since I enjoyed sociology so much in school.

I don't think I would block them for that. Better to be looking AT buyers than looking FOR them. Interesting story though

If he was leaving bad feedback, not paying, or otherwise being a real nuisance then I might block him, but otherwise I would just let it be entertainment..

I agree with mortatort. This guy is a paying buyer, I see no problems esp no reason to block. So he helps bid your items up and messages you when he loses? Just reply that you will adhere to the eBay sale.

I would be giving him a beer and insist he stick around!

how do you see who wins an auction that is not yours? winning id's are blocked from everyone except the seller.

You can tell who the bidder is by their feedback and their disguised s/n is still the same regardless of where they bid.

If he/she is helping increase the price of my auctions I'd like them to stick around; however, I don't like how they try to make a crazy profit by essentially lying about what they have.

I agree, we need all the buyers we can get right now.
