Default Pristine Auctions/ ACE authentication

Has anyone gotten anything from either place? I won a Tebow auto'd 8X10 with cert from ACE. Well I just got this stuff in the mail and the Tebow is nowhere close to looking authentic. I only bid on it because you couldnt really see the sig in auction page but trusted it because it had a trackable authentication.
I emailed Pristine and they said policy is to not refund from third party authenticators and questioned why I thought it was fake

Here is a copy of the sig

You guys see anything wrong? lol

ACE is no where near legit. I wouldn't buy anything with that cert. A Guy or a couple of them that worked for GAI (worst authentication company ever and now defunct) started ACE. So.... Basically same people, means authenticating everything that comes their way.

i got some other stuff off pristine all legit but this one i am disappointed in. Whomever was responding to my emails said that "According to our policies, third party authenticated items are not returnable. With that said, your satisfaction is more important to me than sticking to our policies." and he said he would get it taken care of. Not sure what that means as of now but i am sure I will never buy ACE again. Like i told pristine I understand signing habits vary but not anything like this

There are certainly many variations to a players autograph. We are not authenticators but only accept items to our auction that have been reviewed and authenticated by industry leading third party experts. The Tebow item that you purchased was authenticated by ACE (autographcertificationexperts.com)

Thanks,
Jared

Pristine Auction

he tried telling me this is a variation. Im certain if i tried selling this with a clear picture nobody would bite

ACE was giving away free authentication certifications at the Chicago National a few years back. I witnessed a kid sign Juan Pierre's name on a photo and take it to the ACE booth and got it certified as authentic.

enough said.....

LOL why does this not surprise me. And free services!? Really! what a joke. Did they also have a sign on their booth that read GAI (Crossed out) = ACE

pfft.... don't feel bad it was one mistake and your getting your refund. It would be a different story if this was a habit but it is only a one time mistake.

When will you dolts learn? Don't buy it unless it's from a reputable company.

I have jerseys, mini helmets, pictures, and footballs with COA from GAI. They were pretty much the only ones I would collect from and I paid a pretty penny for each piece. But after reading that I have this churning in the pit of my stomach. Could my stuff really be fake or to a certain degree?

Depends on when you bought them. The first 2-3 years that GAI was in business, they seemed to be legit, and I've seen a good number of items with GAI stickers cross over to PSA and JSA. I wouldn't touch any GAI items posted on ebay the past few years though, too many of them look obviously fake, so I wouldn't trust any of them.

Also, if the sticker numbers start with GP and not GV, then there is a better chance they are authentic. The GP stickers are from private signings they witnessed, while the GV stickers are for already signed items that they are giving an opinion on. Hopefully your items have the GP stickers.

A few are GP, and a few are GV. I'm guessing PSA/JSA is the way to go. Could I send in my stuff a piece at a time to this company and have them authenticate it with their own?

TriStar, UDA, JSA, PSA, Rick Radtke and Gridiron Authentics.

I would suggest crossing over any GAI items you have to PSA or JSA. there certainly are some legit autos with GAI certs but thier reputation is SOOOOOOOOOO flawed it almost makes any legit auto meaningless, kind of like Topps football's rookie premier autos and Pujols buyback autos.

If a player has a autograph agent or company it is perfectly fine to have a COA from them. Only problems you may run into down the road is if it is a small company that no one really knows. That rarely happens though.

Check out this website and take a night to read through thier forum. I learned soooooo much about autos after doing so, along with the history behind authentication companies and such. Check it out.
