Default 2011 SP Authentic Football

Anyone else think this looks like garbage? Also, I hate that they combined SPX and Rookie Threads into the product. I do like the Retro rookies though.

Yes I think it looks like garbage. Wish there wasn't so much going on in every card.

I loved sp authentic for its simplicity, not sure why they did this.

I have to imagine that UD is having serious money problems and combining 3 product lines (SPA, SPx & Rookie Threads) will save them a ton of money in printing, autos & memorabilia.

I do have to say that it is funny how much we bitch (me included) about the number of releases the card companies put out and then we moan about it when they combine them (not pointing at you specifically, 49erFan. Talking about collectors in general)

SP Authentic and SPX should be stand alone products. Rookie Threads should not be made.

No one can ever be happy....

Combining of products is what needs to happen...

The more that are combined the less product release we have and more limited amount of each to get the values back up

I think they look better then in the past IMHO

this is a complete 180 from the beatiful simplicity of SPA. Weird geometric 3d patterns in the background, random squares and rectangles filled with color and patterns, unnecessary double and triple lines to segment parts of the cards...wow. Love how every uneccesary element of the spa cam newton has a fade to white, lol

Doesn't even matter.

As long as UD doesn't hold an NFL license, they're just pissing in the wind anyway.

I really like the 1998 retro Future Watch cards and the SPA doesn't look all that bad. I could take or leave the SPx and Threads cards but I agree with the others that consolidation probably is a good thing.

The product is not as nice as it has been in the past. IMO i like the simple back grounds so the patch and auto stand out.

Actually consolidating these products is a huge plus. Why have more products and water down the values of hits? Panini and Topps release 50 damn products a year killing the value of the cards overall. If this is actually happening I like this move by UD.

Now I see that it is a combination of everything, lol don't notice that at first. Imo it would have been better to just cut out SPx and rookie threads for a bit until they get licensing back. I feel that SP Authentic and Exquisite were their two strongest products.

The only thing I don't really care for on these is the signature threads card with the auto sticker that looks to be over the jersey, other than that I think they look pretty good.

those are promo images at best....images are put out by companies for various sell sheets, end product will be slightly different. I am sure you guys are aware of this.

In any case, if it has any remote similarities to the images above, I think its still ok in person once we see it....
