Just wanted to see what people are thinking of this product. I busted 1 box of regular topps last year. This year I wanted to do a case of jumbo. I know its a cheap product but I think its a great way to fill up my .25 boxes and dollar boxes and a great way to try and chase a nice case hit for cheap.
I really looked at all of the Topps products and besides inception I think that I am going to bust 1 case of each. Besides finest. I always bust 3-5 cases of finest but the price tag is 150 more than last year. what is the case hit anyways

I think it looks great! This is more of a set collector's product than a hit chasing product, but I really enjoyed Topps last year. This year's base set looks great, the Bowman throwback cards have a lot more variety, and I like the inserts better this year too. I'll probably end up with a few boxes.

I simply talking about a 1/1 auto that pays for the case or something. I like these cause I can sell rookies and inserts for $1 or $2 game used for 5 and I can sell the set collect cards for .25
I make my money back off of $1 and .25 boxes not because of autos and game used

By listing cards at .25 for set needs(im assuming on ebay), how much do you charge for shipping? And how successful have you been in doing this? Ive been contemplating for for a while now on whether or not I would do this but didnt know the best way to do it.

I definately dont think this is a money making product like Base Topps Baseball is every year.
If your doing it more for fun, and if you lose money and you dont mind? Go for it. But simply for re-sale, id advise you to pass. The only "case" hit from Jumbo should be the Rookie Premiere Auto..and even at that, unless you get a name player (keep in mind there are 36 possible) its not worth it. Hell even a name player wont cover the cost of a case, hafl if your lucky. The thing that makes MLB better than NFL is the amount of set collectors and parallel chasers. The NFL parallels just dont sell as good as MLB. |

Or, you could wait a month or so, and get the case a hell of alot cheaper. Last year i bought a box of jumbo for 85$ and the day my lcs got it, and a month later they had it for under 60$.

I understand that but 2010 topps is like 50 dollars cheaper now than 2011 pre sale is per case
thats 7 a box not much difference Second just so everyone understands I dont sell very many cards on ebay, When I say quarter cards and 1 dollars cards I am talking about card shows at the mall or at hotels PS I sold Every Cam Newton and the New Jags QB at the mall last week from Topps Rising Rookie for $2 dollars X 10 each was 40 and that is just 2 players Plus you have 1/1's you have autos, patches, SP's quads, red autos and the most collected qb aaron rodgers will have the ring of honor card which is an easy $1 probably 2 per box. I just see profit all over this product. OF course I only do shows in north, south carolina and jacksonville fl

Not to be a jerkor anything..but i believe it has more to do with your location for those prices. Your right smack in the territory..of course those cards are gonna sell.
But if you put it that way, your only going to get maybe 1 RC per box..maybe 2 if you count an insert. So thats at most 12 cards, $2 each...only about $25 off $525?? And you mention the GU? youll be lucky if you get $5 per..Ebay or card show. You make it out to seem like the case(s) are guaranteed to be loaded with all the "patches, 1/1, Autos" etc. Your guaranteed 1 Rookie Premiere Auto per Jumbo case...you might get lucky and catch a 1/1 plate or something... but other than that, the odds of that are just to rare. Just my opinion though. Good Luck |

the boxes cost around 10-15 cent a card at the going rate..... you have to sell everycard in the case/box over that amount or you lose money. I have personally done this several times and can tell you, if you buy a case, your pretty much buying it for fun, your not going to make money, even the people with great plans, that presell sets & all that, they might make $1000 off a case for a "TON" of work best case scenario.... but then they turn back around & put the money into the next product and lose on that product.... card buying/selling/collecting never works buying cases & boxes unless you hit the lottery and get a great card or two... because no matter how many rookies, or jersey cards you get, there is always some guy on ebay with the same card selling it for nothing that devalue's what you have.... auto's & jersey cards sell on ebay for a buck all the time and that's typically something nice you look for out of boxes, but they really aren't worth much and never return value on the boxes. you could spent $600 on a case, and I could spend $600 on ebay buying jersey/patch/auto's etc and I'd easily come out way ahead on resale.
however, I don't knock buying cases at all, I buy them all the time personally, I don't mind chasing a bit hit, but that's just what it is "CHASING A BIG HIT"
