Becket Has Released Early Pricing For 2008 Contenders

Anyone seen it yet? Pretty interesting on how they priced the SP's... and yes, Jed Collins is the most expensive rookie in the set.

Saw that this morning. Looks like the the Jonathan Stewart Blue ink was intentional as well. Blue BV is 135 vs. Black BV 80.

It appears that eBay values have influenced the prices of this set more than in years past. Typically, a Contenders auto would bring about 60% of book value on ebay. Now, it seems like the book value and what they are bringing on ebay are much closer. Stewert's black ink auto has been bringing $45-$80 on ebay. As a result, in the past, that card would have booked for around $120.00...

Maybe Beckett is starting to realize that ebay influences the current values of these cards more than they did in the past.

My Contender autos have sold very poorly. Had I not pulled the Ryan I would have not made back 20% of what I paid. Not a good quick rip and flip at all. I didn't really pull any good short term autos other than Ryan and Jamaal Charles though and I bought 5 boxes. I'll hang onto a few of these and see what happens next year.

I might have to pick up a few boxes of Mayo though, that product intrigues me.

Mayo books $40 Hi and same for Sweed..only saw one listing for Sweed no variations

and who the hell is Jed Collins??? i understand its the lowest print run /30...but even Torain-who had plenty of hype, got some pt and actually looked very good before getting re-injured- is only /76 and books $175 Hi..some thngs just dont make sense 2 me..in a way i feel sorry for the people who bought early on some cards i.e. Henne-1 recently sold for $225, only $60 bv, Zbikowski-going as high as $350 only $100 bv, Dizon at $100 $40 bv

Contenders collectors are a strange breed i guess lol

No pricing on college, and the college championship autos have a print run of 1

I understand that Jeb Collins has the lowest print run of 30 but $400 for a guy who has been on 3 teams in one year. No wonder he only signed 30 he was moving too much.

I don't think it's actually the college championship...but I know there are college jersey varaiations...and only seems to be one per case. And I've seen at least one other Flacco college auto variation other than mine.
