Default FIRST LOOK: Paniniís 2011 Prime Signatures Football

FIRST LOOK: Paniniís 2011 Prime Signatures Football

By Susan Lulgjuraj | Contributing Editor

For collectors looking for autographs, 2011 Prime Signatures Football seems to be the place to turn.

Scheduled for a mid-February release with autographs from rookies, veterans and legends, the product is a ďre-imagined upgrade of the 2002 Playoff Prime Signatures Football issue,Ē Panini wrote in a release.

Each box will yield four cards: one autograph numbered to 249 or less, two base cards numbered to 499 or less and one additional base card or insert.

The 261-card base set includes 175 current stars and retired legends as well as 86 rookies.

The Rookie Cards will be autographed, including 36 on-card signatures from the players that attended this yearís NFL Players Rookie Premiere.

Some of the veteran and retired-player autographs in the set include Troy Polamalu, Matthew Stafford, John Elway, Barry Sanders, Dan Marino and Joe Montana.

The autographs come in tiered parallels: Silver (/75), Gold (/25), Platinum (/5 or less) and Printing Plates (1/1).

The Call to the Hall Signatures Ė featuring Hall of Famers Ė are numbered to 49 or less and Call to Hall Combo Signatures are numbered to 25 or less.

Is each box $10?

Not that I would buy one anyways...but why do they keep overpopulating the market with this crap? Sure looks a lot like gridiron legends though, which was awful

I hope this isn't more than $40 a box. Looks like a crap version of the old UD SP Signature Edition.

That makes it sound like 1 auto per box...

Crown Royale is $94 per box and gives you a shot at 4 autos... so unless Panini is really only putting in premier players, what is going to make a pack of Prime Signatures top $30?

same old same old from Panini. Why don't spend some time differentiating the designs for each set?

I imagine this will be a $20 make or break type of box. If you get a crappy auto, your not out much, but when you get a nice one, you will make out decent.

$20 seems way too cheap for this, I think it will be priced around Ultimate collection even though thats a lot better lol

+1 - This has to be Panini's version of Ultimate for sure. 4 cards, 1 auto per box.

Ultimate typically came out between $70-85 I think per box. Lots of losers, and a better buy as a case not individuals.

But I do like the idea of a product without jersey cards. 1-color Jerrel Jernigan/Bilal Powell/Taiwan Jones event-used cards numbered to 999 are such a waste of space

I don't think they look all that bad. It just seems like it's another to
gouge the fans. Why not just make one Certified and make it a quality product and get it out on time?

More products from Panini with white backgrounds....great!

It seems Panini is doing it's best to screw things up.

I do miss the Upper Deck quality photos/action shots. The images from Topps and Panini both are pretty weak.

Distributor cost to dealers is in the 40's so retail will be in the 50-60 range.

Ridiculous.

Making a statement like that, you should try to put at least one fact in the subject.....

But I do think this is better than Ultimate where you can pay $60 for a jersey card

But then all Ultimate autos are on card

I don't like that they have 80++ rookies in the lineup, so you are bound to get some stinkers if you buy single boxes/tins. Looks like the only way to get someone good is to buy singles or a case.....

More sticker auto's!!!!!!! Come on' Paninni!!!!!!

MAP on this is $60, meaning that is the cheapest anyone with a Panini contract can offer it for sale.
