Default John Madden retires from booth

It was just reported on ESPN that John Madden has decided to hang it up at the age of 74. What a great day in history to not have to listen to him broadcast again.

Yeah..but it's kinda odd that the last 2-3 years had not even included Madden as an announcer. I don't understand why this is?

I kind of had the idea it was health related as well. He missed his first game last year on the account of health I think.

I'd still take Madden over all 3 of the ESPN Monday Night guys.

Hate all 3. Well, just 2. Tirico is okay. Hate Jaws and Kornhole

You have to think Kalas' death might have been the tipping point. They both are/were the same age.

I liked Madden, he undestood the game of football. Now you take Kornhole, he should not be allowed on TV, just ruins the game.

The Gumble boys just plain suck out loud. The first season of NFL Network games was painful to listen to with Gumble butchering everything. Can't stand either of them.

I'd say they should replace Michaels with Michael Kay and Buffalo's hockey announcer They may know nothing about the sport, but they would at least be entertaining.

Bring back Rush and Miller
