Default Decoy Please

I have been getting a lot of jersey/patch cards from the bay that have a nice big juicy crease along the edge of the relic, and would love to know why people can't and won't use a GD decoy in the front of the card!!!!

I just got a 2010/11 Contenders Paul George, and the GD card has a crease near the patch on the left hand side. I also noticed that the card isn't the same card from the scan/photo. I emailed the SOB, and asked him why he sent me a card that wasn't the one advertised, and why it has a crease on it. I sure can't wait to here his excuses.

I also posted this on the Ebay forum.

Sorry about that. My wife wants me to be a little less harsh with my language, so instead of G** D***, I now use GD.

Hers is what I bought.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

And here is what I got. Notice the number 2, and the smudge at the end of my auto. Plus as a bonus I also got a beutiful 1/1 crease.

It does look like a different card. Besides not having a decoy was it in a bubble mailer, team bag, top loader, sleeve, and with the mailer stamped fragile for hand sorting? If it had all that I would really think you got a different card then the one in the picture and it wasn't damaged during shipping. At least i would hope so, but you say you've been getting lots of cards damaged like this? I'm curious because i sell and always worry about shipping and i don't keep the decoy's from boxes for shipping. Nice of the seller to refund without hassle.

That 24 does look different but the patch looks to be about the same position with the P. The Ebay scan seems to have a bit of chipping on the top right side. Does your's have that? Hard to say when cards are not #'rd.

Yeah, the chipping on the right side isn't on the card, but the right bottom corner of the card he sent me is slightly frayed. He also used a bubble mailer. I always ship with a bubble mailer, team bag and decoy. I also like to put in a generic top-loader as added corner protection. I always get decoys from my hobby store, plus from busting wax. They are absolutely needed for any kind of relic, but are always a sure fire way to keep the card(s) in straight condition.

He was awfully quick to respond, but I think he is doing this so he can cover his own a**. I just hate this shaddy bs that goes on.

He should be able to click on the paypal transaction and click "issue refund". But he could send it to your email as well.

You'll get your money back no problem. Make sure you return the card with DC. There is no need to open a case if the seller is working with you. If he hasnt refunded within a couple days of the DC showing delivered, then open the case and provide the DC.

I asked him why he needed this about the same time I posted this and he has yet to reply.

The patches are slightly different. The one you were supposed to get has a slight upward angle, the one you got doesn't. Or at least it's not quite so noticeable.

1 question. If this is a Pacers card, why post about it in Football instead of Basketball? Just curious. There ARE different forums.

You realize that if it was shipped with delivery confirmation it becomes a parcel and isnt sorted through a machine right? Also, marking fragile on a letter does nothing to stop it from being sorted through a machine if its letter first class mail. I love when people mark "do not bend" or "fragile" on a plain white envelope and the envelope has roller marks and machine damage on it.

Decoys are a MUST! I have made tons of transactions through the mail and had never had damage issues up until last month...then I had 2 out of 3 cards in a row come in with severe damage and had to send them back...both were really low numbered PC cards that I will probably not get another chance at....the one thing they both had in common?
No decoy or cardboard to protect them.

Sure PWE are a no go on any shipping for cards. Just asking for damage. At the PO today and asked about First Class Parcel and when PO employee stamps fragile all over it. Asked her how it was sorted and she said through a machine but one that doesn't "squish it" as much. Her words.

From the Discovery channel How does U.S. mail get sorted? - Curiosity. When mail arrives at a U.S. Postal Service processing center, machines do most of the sorting. First, the mail is sorted by size and shape. The machines at this stage also orient all the mail so the addresses are right-side up and facing the same direction. These machines also cancel the stamps so they can't be re-used. From here, a second machine scans the addresses and imprints a fluorescent bar code on the back of the mail and a second bar code (this one includes the delivery address) on the front. Another machine reads these bar codes and separates the mail by ZIP code. From here, the mail is delivered to its intended ZIP code processing center, where machines again read the bar code address and sort the mail by individual carrier.

Not to keep this going as it is over now, but I posted in here because I spend 90% of my time on here. I also have posted a thread like this over in basketball less than 1 month ago and never got a response, so I brought it here.

And I believe he had the card with damage already on it all along. He obviously got it and didn't know what to do with it, and so when he got caught he immediately gave me a full refund and told me to keep the card seeing as how it wasn't going sell with the damage. I will hold onto it, and show it as a good card that was mistreated. Poor thing has a home here now.
