Default My SPx 264 Collection

Expanding my horizons in search of my collecting focus. Wanted to share with the fine folks here. I specifically collect sequence # 264/ or 0264/ in SPx Jsy/Auto RC, SPx Auto RC and SPx RC. Alternate number 246/ for SPx numbered to only 250.

264 is short for my birthdate: 02-26-64

My collection was posted in the Super Collector section of the May 2008 Beckett Publication. So help me out and look in all the common boxes and not so commons to help my collection.

Here are a few to start with the sharing:

2006 SPx Reggie Bush 264/399 BGS 9

2001 SPx Drew Brees 246/250 BGS 8.5

2007 SPx Adrian Peterson 264/299 BGS 9

Hmmmm....very interesting collection that seems to have significance to you.

So you live in Bowling Green, huh? I had a fellowship offer to do my Ph.D. at BGSU but chose Kent State instead...

A new addition with less wait time...

This one was in a lot of 38 autos, that the seller had listed at $65. Made contact with the seller and made arrangements to acquire if the lot didn't sell. I kept the lot on my watch list and debating on whether or not I should grab the lot. I could always use the remaining for trade bait, but the lot wasn't that appealing to me, with of course this one card. With a couple days left, the seller reduced the price to $55, so I really began to wonder then. I made the decision to wait it out and hoped the lot didn't sell, reducing the effort I would have to try and acquire from the new owner. The lot didn't sell and a minute later, I sent the seller my offer. It arrived today and to be honest, if I need an extra card to fill my next grading order, I will send this one (it is very nice). Here it is.....#170 of my quest......

2000 SPx Chris Redman 0264/2000

The madness continues.....there is another up on the bay....so time between acquisitions should be pretty short again.....

Yep, plus 150+ "variants". Variants are #d 264/xxx in other products or sports. My key focus is the SPx football. Here is the link to my bucket:

Very nice and very cool.

My birthday is 10-25-84, so I guess I need to start looking for cards #10/25, bwahaha.

Not, way too expensive!

Yea, /25 would get expensive, this #d 264/xxx, is soooo not descript. But, based on the player, it still gets expensive....

Why did you choose SPX specifically? It's not exactly the greatest product in football collecting.

The decision was really made in early 2005 or late 2004. I really liked the look of the set with Roethlisberger and Manning back then. Just what I picked, plus not the highest end, which helps me keep it affordable.

I have to give it to you. This has to be the single most difficult/fun collection to ever be put together. I think I would have stopped collecting once I got to 264 cards though.

Thanks. I have been asked if I would stop once I got to 264....it may be hard to do so...but thought about 264 auto/auto jsys and 264 base rookies....

Well not everything can be Exquisite or National Treasures. SPX is a solid brand. Upper-middle tier I'd say...
