Default PC question

so do you buy a little bit of each guy you like to PC, or do you whittle down your PC targets and buy as much as you can of those guys?

trying to figure out if I should re-focus my funds for the hobby.

I personally stick to Texans that I feel will be sticking around and hopefully retire with us for PC(Andre, Foster, Cushing, Watt). when I first started up I tried super collecting AJ but he has waaaay too many cards out, lol. Looks like Brian Cushing is gonna be my new project. As far as amount of cards for each I buy as much as I can but I made a personal choice to now stick with autos and patches, no more solid color GU jsy cards for me.

I focus on one hit it hard and then shift around depending on deals I can find and whats out there.Pricing has a lot of play as to where my focus goes try to get in before the player is sought after .

How do you pick who you will PC? To me the way the NFL runs through players you can put alot of money into someone who then gets traded or worse injured or cut. If you know the player or something then that would be a good reason to go heavy on the cards. For example as a dolphin fan IF I went after Brandon Marshall then bam now he's a bear. For me it's the team not the player. I did this with Ricky Williams when he went Dolphins and then he went walkabout then he came back then he went to the Ravens then he retired. I have a sweet collection but...... then again the Dolphins might not be a good example. I would say 5 great cards not 100 would have been the way to go. Find 5 kick ass cards get those then move to that next player.

I actually pc a set that I think will not lose value. Also you entire PC is not based on one persons performance. I Choose the 2010 Magic Refractor Auto Set.

I get what you are saying here. But even though I collect Laurinaitis I still have lota of other Rams, Lakers, and Dodgers stuff. But yes, the NFL is a cruel world and James might end up somewhere else...but I would still root for him cause I love what and who he represents as a person and not just his play on the field.

I agree if you have respect for the player outside of just the uniform then that's a guy to collect. I just wish the Dolphins would find that stable QB or stable anything then maybe I would reconsider and go after more than one auto. They find great slot receivers like Welker, Bess, Hartline, Camerilio but hard to super collect them but I'll take doubles of there autos with no complaints.

I have lurked in the shadows for quite a while now. Figure it's about time to add something to the community.

For me personally, I PC 12 different players. I am constantly searching Ebay to find the best deals on each player. There really isn't any set way that I decide who to buy for other than who I can find for the cheapest amount that particular day. Wherever there is a bargain to be found I scoop them up.

I will say that I tend to gravitate towards some players that I PC on occasion. Whenever I log on to Ebay i always search Dwayne Bowe-Autos- Price plus shipping, lowest first. I have been on a Bowe buying binge lately for some reason.

Stop buying stuff and find a nice card shop employee and just give him your money.

if only you guys had more singles of the guys I PC!

in any event, next time the boys decide to head down, I'll tag along. I need more supplies (they never last as long as I think they will!).

i am super pumped though. The bowman sigs break I was just in that looked like a bust actually yielded me a NASTY PC hit at 3rd pick: Inside the Numbers Von Miller jersey auto /10!

Well, I chose a PC that will never end unless the HOF closes up. Each year I have new people to seek out and so I will always have something to get. Plus there are people I may never find or might not be able to ever afford.

Definitely hard to get an autograph of every NFL HOF member, but it is a lot of fun. Plus they will usually hold if not gain value.

That is a heck of an undertaking there. I can imagine you searching Ebay every night; typing in the player you need; then saying "one time baby, one time!" Good luck!

I pc Darrelle Revis and buy all sorts of diffrent stuff. I like to do Topps Chrome rainbows. I will do the "x" and "o" stuff from gridiron gear. Whatever I can get a good deal on. I dont limit my collecting to just him though. I collect all sorts of other stuff. Take everything on a card by card basis. If I want it and like it and most importantly, can afford it then I buy it. If I get sick of it I sell or trade it.

Well my main PC is my Arizona guys, so that's an easy one to not have to worry about them switching teams and I focus on the guys who were playing when I was in school.

For the Panthers, my favorite player is Stewart, even if he leaves in FA next year I won't be disappointed in my collection as I'll still like him, will actually probably pick up more Panthers cards of his if that happens as I should get them for cheaper. My Biakabutuka cards will always be #1 for me and don't need to worry about him switching teams, same with Cam and Smitty

AGREED!!! This is what I do, I try to keep my Steelers PC mostly legends and Hofers,,,I have rookie stuff of guys I think are going to do well, but don't collect heavily unless they sign that long term contract making them a lifetime Steelers! For instance I tried to super collect Plaxico, didn't turn out too well now i don't have any! I have some nice Mike Wallace stuff but wont add any more till he signs! The most important thing to remember is there will always be others. i used to get upset if I missed a great card, or I couldn't get a deal done for something i really wanted..Now if the deal isn't right I walk! Its hard for people to understand how I could walk on a PC addition but I know there will always be more!!!
