I got this one in 04 when I didn't really understand the hobby. I thought it was the coolest thing, its a little dinged up from not knowing how to take care of it.

What was your first hit?

well, i recently found a few that I wish i had known what to do with when i was collecting.

Found 2 basketball redemptions (for 94 UD and 93 Topps). the messed up thing is i knew both cards were special for some reason so i put them into toploaders. smh.

i was going to say a peyton manning jersey out of topps 2010 was my first auto or jersey hit, but i recently found a Kaj Linna auto (hockey) from my old cards. didn't know it was special either, not even protected

Guess I'm the old fart of the bunch...I remember hitting a Dale Murphy card out of 1983 Topps and being excited...before the days of inserts or hits as you know them today...you just had base to get excited over. I grew up a Braves fan because they were the only team I could watch at least a few games a week...TV back then was only about 12 channels lol.

I know I pulled other auto cards from 1991 Pro Line... Everson Walls/ Monte Coleman sticks out in my head, but I can't remember when I pulled those... but my first major hit I know for sure was a 1992 Pro Line Auto of David Klinger.

2009 Topps Jumbo. I had a box that had a Mohammed Massaquoi and Steven Jackson jersey. Bit what I pulled out of the first pack of the jumbo box was a Career Best Matt Ryan Auto.

My first memorable hit.........was a 2008 topps letterman brett favre base superfractor!!!!!!!!!!! unfortunately, before i was ebay savvy, I sold it at my local card shop for 125, which may not be to bad now since it was a jets uniform.......but probably bad at the time since it was probably his 5th or 6th card in a jets uni!!!

My first really "big" hit that I can remember would be a 96/97 SPx Wayne Gretzky Autograph. This was back when the cards were those oval die cuts and it was 1 card per pack for $5.

All I wanted for my 15th birthday was a box of 1994 TSC Baseball. I saw some First Day Issue cards at the LCS from 1993, and I was bound and determined to get myself a 1994 Ken Griffey JR First Day issue. I didn't realize how bad the odds were to get the ONE card I wanted.

Regardless, I got my box. And amazingly, I pulled it. The one card I wanted, and it will be forever in my collection.
