The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2012 Prestige Football (68 Must-See Pics)

Maybe it’s because 2012 Prestige Football is releasing about a month later than usual. Maybe it’s because 2012 Prestige Football will include the industry’s first licensed 2012 Rookie Cards of players in their NFL uniforms. And just maybe, it’s because the young stars on those RCs constitute one of the most exciting, potential-packed football rookie crops in quite some time.

Whatever the reason, this much is certain: 2012 Prestige Football, live everywhere next Wednesday, is easily one of the most anticipated editions in the venerable brand’s 15-year existence.

Truth be told, there actually are seemingly countless reasons for all of the excitement — and we’re about to show you 68 more in the massive gallery that follows. The Panini America NFL Product Development spent much of the last few days at the company’s printing facility packing out and quality controlling the product, which includes, among other niceties . . .

Rookie Card variations
Popular inserts and parallels that have become Prestige staples
Mesmerizing Holokote insert variations
A healthy dose of rookie autographs (including many of the latter on-card) and the industry’s first usage of player-worn memorabilia used during the 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere.

I LOVE the look of these. Truthfully if they said these were the Contenders previews I'd think they're prefect. I've got to believe they hired some new designer to rework this set...if they did it was money well spent. Set looks phenomenal!!!

but $96/box is absolutely insane. this is more expensive than topps jumbos and platinum and just a tad cheaper than finest.

paninis prices at release are a joke

Wow...Prestige has changed a lot. Gone are the days of a 2-3 week post draft release with NCAA unis.

This is not your father's Prestige, folks.

Meh, not bad. What's the over under on how many releases Panini will squeeze out between now and the 2013 Draft? I'm setting the line at 347 releases.

I thought it was nice too but then saw the $96 price for one box and that makes it a pretty ugly product. For the price point your much better off buying singles of who you want. Finest is much better at not much more. Ive always preferred Panini over Topps but this year may change that and it doesnt help that Panini has bent me over on the lst few replacements ive gotten from them. Nice cards, crappy price
