Default Basic Thoughts on 2012 Topps Football

Just broke a jumbo case with 1 to go.

This is not a case break thread.

1) How many rookie reprints of Elway, Marino, etc do we really need? I bet there are more rookie reprints of these players around than real cards.

2) I really like the design

3) I really like the camo

4) The autographs I'm getting suck badly

5) I love that they are still numbering the gold unlike baseball

6) Veteran SPs suck - rookies are better

7) Rookie patches are pretty cool

8) Good photos

9) All the inserts except the dual ones are cool

Anyone have any thoughts?

I have a jumbo case on the way. In the breaks I have seen on you tube so far are pretty much all sticker autos. Did you happen to get any on card autos in your case?

Are the captain patches game worn or are they manufactured patches? What's the odds on pulling one.

With exception to the Red Zone and Rookie Premiere autos regular Topps has never been known for on-card autos.

Yeah, seems like a lot of crap auto's in this product. Almost has me rethinking a case and just going for a few boxes this weekend.

I don't get why they're doing the rookie reprints AGAIN. I got sick of seeing them last year.

I am pleasantly surprised by the "bonus" hits. You never see that in baseball, but I'm seeing many football Jumbo boxes with 4 hits. Also, if you have an LCS in your area, those redemption cards are going to be huge. Some eBay sellers are dumping them cheap prematurely. Those Kickoff packs will sell for $20+ on eBay once live. Heck, the Game Time codes and Kickoff Redemption packs alone may bring back 50%. This should be easy money for many.

I did get one Rookie Premiere Auto (Justin Blackmon) and it was on card. (It's on ebay until this time tomorrow if anyone cares). The rest that I got were lame stickers.

The patches say from no particular game, etc, but the Tannehill looks like a letter or a number (also on ebay if you care to see a photo of it). They're still cool.

Not sure what captain's patches are so I can't answer that, but I don't think I got any of them.

Long day, another case to break tomorrow. Going to bed now.

Decent break for the money in my opinion. If the codes sell at all, I'm in good shape without a huge hit.

Anyone know of any HTA stores in south Jersey where I can redeem?

For the price point currently I think the Jumbos are a BIG winner. This has to be the best football product so far and the price point is quite cheap. I think we will see the Jumbos move up quickly since the case breaks look good. For once I like Topps Fb this year.

Just broke case #2.

Again, a solid product, but nothing fancy. Worth the money, but unless you get really lucky, nobody is going to break the bank.

I love the Topps numbered the gold cards unlike in Baseball (although they will number all of the gold cards in Update and previous Series 1 and 2 cards as well)

Just noticed a couple of the Luck variations sold for $100.

Surely they won't stay there will they? Or will they increase if he plays well Sunday?

I opened 2 cases.

1 Rookie Variation
1 Veteran Variation

These aren't the easy to find baseball variations. $100 for Luck sounds reasonable based on the hype. At least for now.

The serial # ends in 30 on the variant instead of 1, so if you look by serial # they're pretty easy to find.

Boxes are going between $100 to $115 for jumbo depending on the place you find it.

I'm confused. Which variations are we talking about? The ones I'm talking about aren't serial #'d.

I was shorted a hit in one of my boxes so it's probably an average of 3.

Love the Camo and BCA designs tho.
