Jeffrey Lurie Press Conference - MUCH more insightful

Reid, Vick and Dungy went out and did their spindoctoring but about 10 minutes later Lurie took the stage and was phenominal. While it didn't change my stance on Vick, it did change my stance on what the Eagles did and are doing. Lurie used some strong words and phrases which stood out like these two : "I wanted to see self-hatred when talking to Vick face-to-face" and "If Vick isn't pro-active in the community he will be gone. It (the signing) will be a huge mistake but one that I'll fix very fast" Lurie and his wife are very Earth conscious (Go Green is huge with them) and devout animal lovers so I'm not surprised he said he needed some serious convincing on the parts of Reid, Dungy, Godell and Vick.

I too liked the press conference. I thought he did very well, and it is obvious the Eagles thought this through, know what they are dealing with, and can cut the cord at any time.

Obviously the smart move. For his own sake, Michael better be pretty darn careful...
