I hope it is true....

We have to pay between %10-%20 more at LCS's.... BEFORE TAX

Hobby Direct cases/boxes should be a little better.

Whether it's just luck or not, IMO I get better hits from the boxes I've purchased at my local LCS.

Admittedly, it's not a statistical analysis, but I choose to believe it if for no other reason than to keep me excited about supporting my local shop.

For the most part, I've gone to a 50/50 split of my card funds--50% spent buying PC singles on Ebay and 50% spend on hobby boxes at my LCS to satisfy my box busting tendencies.

I think there is a chance card companies front load their initial shipments to hobby direct dealers on their initial shipment. This wouldnt really apply to when they re-order. Also wouldnt mean all the good hits would be in these boxes just a slightly higher quantity than in the average case

My biggest personal pulls

AP Red Ink Rookie Premire Auto - LCS after 5 years in their warehouse
Luck Prestige Photo Variation Auto - card show weekend of release
RG3/Doug Williams Passing Torch Dual Auto - LCS day of release
Cam Gold Standard Auto/Patch - card show a few weeks ago
Cam/Ingram Passing Torch Dual Auto - LCS well over 6 months after release (case from distributor)
RG3 UD Lettermen Auto - LCS week of release

Pretty random on where I got the boxes and how close to release day

there is no re-order. topps sells out before it ships. unless the LCS re-orders from a distributor...

Yep, my main store

Who are you? LOL

I'm sure I've seen you in there, given my current non-job situation I'm in there all the damn time, way too much.

I'm the guy with the beard, if you know me, you'll know me by that probably, haha

I have only been there maybe once or twice in the past year and a half. I'll probably start heading back up there now that I'm back in school lol. I most likely haven't seen you, seems like whenever I'm there or with Josh we are the only ones there.

ahhhhh, gotcha, maybe I know Josh by face though, hahaha

Theres a few really good regulars up there, lots of fun when a few of us happen to be there at the same time and are breaking stuff.

The best was for Exquisite a couple weeks ago when the stores two best customers were both there busting some cases at the same time, that was a ton of fun to watch. I plan on being there most of Tuesday as well to watch people busting cases of The Cup

This will not deter me from doing breaks or buying cases from blowout, it was just a spawn of thought that I had from seeing someone pull 5 Auto's /25 or less in 1 case of finest from an LCS, when we pulled 7 in 10 cases. Makes you think a little bit

We all know card companies would never do anything unethical now would they?

one thing people need to know is, some cardshops get the boxes from online retailers instead of distributors.. like when I went to get topps jumbo football this year, they didn't get those from the regular distributor they took them out of a case they purchased personally online. and my hits weren't as good....... the hobby direct cases/boxes are definately better.

Ha, I don't even think the word, "ethical" is a part of their vocabulary.

The card companies for the most part do as they damn well please. They know that the lemmings (I am a lemming too) will complain but they also know that the lemmings will keep on buying their crap. People pretty much know that Platinum FB stinks this year and yet the price goes up due to demand for the crap.

I love my LCS " Marty's Sports Card Exchange " in Chattanooga TN. He has hobby boxes from 96 to now. It is a big shop and I have got some big pulls in there in the past. I remember opening 07 Certified I have never pulled a 1/1 and pulled 3 in one box along with some other nice cards. They were all base 1/1's but they were still my first 1/1's ( first ones I had actually pulled myself ). Looking back at the luck I have had with my LCS compared to online stores, I would have to agree! I am glad I read this I am going tomorrow and cleared a big check this week.

No doubt my best pulls have been at my LCS, i have got good hits from online as well. But no doubt my "monsters" have been LCS.
