I'm the moron? Look in the mirror...

Tom Brady brought the first THREE Super Bowls EVER to New England.

I've been out with him and many other UT players in downtown Austin. I've never once seen him get a comped meal. I've seen fans buy him drinks on many occasions...who cares?

If he WERE to get meals comped somewhere, it'd be good business. Wherever he goes, paying customers follow. You should see how packed places like Spiros get when athletes show up.

I know during the downturn I was doing anything to keep my home when making 70k less then I once was. It all worked out for me and but couldn't imagine the nut he had to cover every month
There's the problem... nobody should EVER base their bills / house on what they make. Like Dave Ramsey teaches, get what you NEED and make it work in your income. If your income is more than the cost of what you need then SAVE the difference. If your income is not enough to cover your NEEDS then you need to make more money. Another thing he teaches is to NEVER use unsecured credit.

What is your point? It's almost as if you aren't grasping what we are saying...

It doesn't matter what he did after he left college. It doesn't matter that he flopped in the NFL. What matters is what he did for UT and the city of Austin and people will never forget that.

Problem with these pro athletes is they waste money on the worst possible investments such as cars and rims and 'making it rain' in the club. Not exactly your best ROI. Next one to file for Chapter 7? Chris Johnson.

And you have to factor in, after taxes/accountant/agent cuts, they're only seeing half of their 'contract' salary or less a year. Then they buy these huge homes and don't realize they not only have to pay mortgage, but ridiculously high property tax yearly.

Don't even get me started on the baby momma drama/child support.

No sympathy. He let his ego make his choices instead of learning from other bankrupt players mistakes.

Right? When my buddy told me this one, I was not shocked at all. He had to take care of his crew and his large family. I'm sure he has a bunch of flat rim hat wearing, bar-b-que-ing family and friends. Then he has to take care of E, Turtle and big bro in his Entourage. Lloyd probably got some, too.

The Vince Young story.........SMH

So, any of you Texas natives willing to give him a place on your couch? He'll need to sell his house to pay off his debt, so he'll be looking for a place to sleep soon. You two can go out back and throw the ball around and maybe he can help teach your son(s) how to throw the football around. Or, not.

When the money disappears, you find out how many REAL friends you have. We'll see how many of his entourage hang around once they see he's broke.

Surprisingly, more people need to read that paragraph than you would think.

There's way too many people just "getting by" per pay period in this nation and they enslave themselves to debt with CC's to make up the difference when they have to.

I hate the Longhorns, but it's religion down there. UT is football Mecca in Texas.

Look for Panini and Topps to have a flood of Vince Young Autographs in 2013.
