Default Colin Kaepernick? and questions about the NFL's future

After watching his approx. 20 yard run and nearly a TD pass,

1. Will he eventually takes Alex Smith's job?

2. Or will he end up a career backup?

Is the NFL moving into a stage where there will be 2 qbs, 1 slow and one fast. Ex. Tebow and Sanchez?

It also seems like the only feature backs are fast AND strong Ex. Gore and TRICH (with Ray Rice and reggie bush being an exception)

Is this a serious question?

Possibly....it seems like the slower, deep threat QB's are struggling...the DB's are just too good these days.

1. Maybe eventually. No time soon though.

2. Depends - not enough playing time yet.

3. No

Is the "nearly a TD pass" the one he threw into triple coverage that nearly got picked off? QB's like Tebow and Kapernick are a trend now, much like the wildcat a few years ago.

That pass didn't nearly get picked off, lol.

Just because the defense got a hand on it doesn't mean it was almost picked off.

If anything it was almost caught by Moss who also had his hands on it.

Theyve been saying that "Running Quarterbacks" are going to take over for 40 years. How many have won a super bowl? Steve Young? He wasnt really a runner but its about as close as youll find.

As for the 2 qb thing the old saying will always remain true, if you have 2 quarterbacks you dont have a quarterback

By slow you think he is talking about Slow in the head?
But still Sanchez and Tebow are both not slow in the head.

Well, if anyone has any Kaepernick Treasures or Exquisite rookies--I'd certainly be interested in Buying/Trading for them

:-)

Heavy QB runners will never have longevity with the amount of hits they take.

In college you have defenders that can't issue the punishing hits the Big Boys on Sundays can week in and week out.

Yeah, more teams should emulate the Jets dual QB offense.

As a big time 49'er fan all I can say to this is that I believe Colin is the future, and can be a great quarterback...but, we will never know until he gets that opportunity.

and holmes look like he tore his acl. I hope the jets are prepared to trade tebow for a WR or a CB.

I still love Romo, but I would not complain if the Cowboys acquired Cam or Griffin as a Wildcat QB. In a world where cap space didn't exist, at least.

Problem with the Jets is that they have a pocket passer with confidence issues and a Tebow who isn't familiar with his own arm.
