BGS Grades are in! A couple questions for the people of Blowout....

Got the following back today thanks to Mrsnyder for hosting! Couple of questions for everyone:

1. On the chrome cards, do the 9s hurt/raise/or stay the same value? Just trying to figure out fair prices for all...

2. If I was to resubmit (the Mikel is very close to the 9.5), how does it work? Do I just send it in as it is? And how much does it cost?

3. On the Mikel the auto grade piece is a little messed up, you can somewhat see it in the scan. Is there anything I can/should do about this?

All of them are avaliable so lmk if interested. Thanks in advance for the help!!

Solid grade on the Smith. In my opinion I would rather buy a raw chrome auto than graded 9. I say crack em and send em back

A BGS 9 can go either way on the chromes. But if you are patient you can sell it for slightly more then a raw.

I know this won't answer any of your questions, and I'm hardly an expert on grading, but...

I don't think I'd bother sending the Mikel back, hoping for a 9.5. The centering won't come back a 9.5 and it could be downgraded. That flaw is much more obvious than on the Ridley.

i send in every month to bgs id send back the mikel to try for a 9.5.
the auto sticker wont hurt the value either way
and it costs the same either way.

How do they grade the centering on a card with no borders. Is there a focal point of the player in relation to the edges?

I honestly don't think you should send in the Ridley again, because it might just be the scan but from the scan it looks like the autograph could be downgraded to a 9 (i see 2 slight fade marks) and also with the corners if there is any white on a corner the grade goes down by .5, so if u have 3 corners that have white (even if it is a extremely small white spot) it won't be above a 8.5 subgrade.

If you send in for a graded card review to try to get a bump they won't downgrade it. You don't have to crack it, just send in the slab. If it doesn't get bumped they will leave it as a 9/10.

Interesting. I have that same leshoure card. Is there a small indention on the right hand side...in the border...near his elbow. It looks like yours has it...and mine has it as well. I was thinking about grading mine but wasn't sure how it would affect it the grade.

I do not think it would effect the card. I sent some cards in with similar indentions and got a 9.5 for surface and edges.

Those auto grades give me hope that the tiny bit of streakiness in the Darvish auto I sent in won't lower the grade to a 9. That's a GREAT grade with awesome subs for the SP Smith!

Cool, thanks for the info. I've never had anything graded so I wasn't sure if it was even worth sending in. Mine looks just like this one, centering too, so its good to know it is probably around a 9.

those chrome wont get above 9.

the centering on the sucks. the leshoure is barely a 9 L/R and the ridley is pretty bad T/B

Yes it does have that same mark. That was making me hesitant as well but I gave it a chance. Thanks for all the advice everyone it is much appreciated
