Default Future HoF members...

If you had to put money down and wanted to start hoarding future HoF'ers for collection or investment, who would it be?

I'd say Eli or Roethlisberger. Both will get in on their current numbers alone, and that doesn't seem to have registered with collectors yet.

Wha?!?

Neither would get in on their current numbers. Boarder line at best for both.

Agreed. If they were both to retire today, I don't think they should get in.

However, if they continue to put up numbers for several more seasons then they are both no brainers.

2 Superbowl QBs get in, unless you play for the Raiders. I promise you both get in.

I am not in the SB Rings= HOF merit camp, so I can't be on board with this.

Sb Rings are a team achievement not a player achievement.

No, and there's probably a reason they didn't win a second one. I feel like winning 2 does require an elite QB. And neither of those players should be mentioned in the same sentence as Ben and Eli.

So you go from saying two Super Bowl quarterbacks=HOF to never mind when I give two examples of terrible Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.

We get it...you are a PittsHomer...but the realistic truth is that Roethisberger is borderline who has had a great running game and superb defenses his entire career.

There is a big difference between possibly getting lucky and doing it once or doing it twice. I agree with that on the first one. But the second and third SBs (I know we didn't win the 3rd one) We had a very bad secondary and NO running game. Ben carried us to both of those. Same with Eli. He was supported for the first one and everything clicked, but he deserves a lot of credit for the second one. This is what I'm saying. There's a huge leap between getting lucky and winning one, or winning two.

And Brady has had the benefit of a great pass blocking OL and during their run of Super Bowl victories he had a back go over 1,000 yards 2/3 years and a dominating defense to support him.

Woodson and bailey, Fitzgerald are the only ones I can think of that haven't been said. Maybe megaton, Rodgers or Willis.

I have never understood the reasoning.

Dan Marino is universally considered a Top 5 QB of all time. He never won a SB. Why should he be penalized personally for not accomplishing a team victory. By extension, why should he receive more acclaim if he had 4 rings. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Both of those QBs were major components in their teams wins while being considered one of the top QBs in their eras. Dilfer and Williams were never held in such esteem.
