It's because they don't trust Martin to get the job done they use Blount as well. The skins know Morris is a beast and they only use Royster when Morris needs a rest. Martin has not lived up to the hype of how high he was drafted, he is this years Mark Ingram

You are talking about two completely different types of players. Morris is this 6'0 monster who can ground and pound from the beginning (will turn out into a Steven Jackson IMO). Martin needs to develop since he isn't this huge monster of a guy (will turn out like a Ray Rice, look where he is now). Ray rice was questionable his first year, with under 500 yds, now he's considered in the top tier of RB's a few years in a row even with the injury last year. I'm pretty sure the saints aren't complaining about Ingram though. They don't need a huge runner with Bree's at QB.

answer me this, if you rush 3.5 yards everytime you touch the ball, and they run you back to back for 3 downs, how many yards does that equal? 10.5, he is averaging a first down everytime he would touch the ball for 3 rushes type of production? what more can you ask for? he's grinding it out and moving the ball when he gets the touches. they don't want him getting injured and ruining his career while the line is not blocking well, that's exactly what the team said themselves. how realistic is it to think he's going to be just beastmode on a team that sucks right now? his team is 1-3...... and he has outperformed anything else they got, blount hasn't performed as well as he has. so? it's obvious he is going to be the featured back. I mean? they might not trust him? but? who really trusts them to know what they are talking about? they are 1-3? they will definately give him more reps soon.

So you would be ok if he averaged 3.5 yards per carry for his career?

he's played 4 games, in 2 of the games he averaged 4.0 and 4.1 ypc...... and had a 4.1 in preseason........

I would not be okay if he just stayed at this level, but my opinion is, he will develop, the team will get it together and he will perform at a higher level in the near future. I do feel okay with him averaging 3.5 so far, yes, very comfortable with that over 4 games.

nothing he's done so far say's he's going to stink it up and be a bust.

Nobody said he is a bust or is not good we are just saying he has not lived up to the hype a first rounder is supposed to bring and what he was expected to do with the Bucs. The kid will be good

the "HYPE" of a first rounder going to a team that is sucking it up and performing out of his mind is unrealistic though. it's about as real a tebow's coverage on being a good QB. no running back can be amazing when his blocking sucks, trent richardson went #3 and isn't really doing any better, I just don't get the whole "he was a first round pick he's supposed to put up video game numbers".......

no running backs really do that unless they are the best to ever run the ball.

to go right in and produce 100+ yard games everytime is not logical. the team itself doesn't command that type of situation. they don't allow a back to get that type of yardage with the gameplan.

What does that have to do with him living up to expectations in the first 4 games?

lol...... he doesn't have to live up to expectations in the first 4 games, if he does it during the season and breaks out that's fine.

Then why did you keep arguing he did live up to expectations if it doesn't matter?

because like I said, his expectations were unrealistic in my opinion so I discredited those expectations. he is running well in my opinion reguardless of what espn says. if he was projected to be one of the best running backs ever and only had a solid performance, i'm more than OK with that. he lived up to my personal expectations, he has yet to dissapoint me personally with a terrible performance, he has been solid every game they just haven't written him into the gameplan to be a fulltime RB and take all the snaps....... blount had a nice game today too though, so? i'ono seems like they are using both, which kinda sucks for me, lol I would have loved for him to take his & blounts carries today, he would have had an awesome game. he was playing very well to me.

Lol I was cussing at tv when Blount was in the game and then proceeded to fumble, cameras showed martin on sidelines (with 19 carries) looking like wtf?

I bet he wouldve approached 300 if dumb coaches left him in...
