Default Chris Spielman - A Football Life

The Spielman's are family friends of ours - and if you don't watch this next week - well then I feel bad for you. There was no Football player like Chris - and what he has done since, especially if you don't live in Ohio to know about it, needs to be heard.

As I Lions fan, I can say that he's one of the best linebackers we've ever had. Nobody played harder than Chris.

Yeah, he's been through a lot in his life. Great story.

He is a special person. I remember years ago SI had a piece on him when his wife was diagnosed with cancer. He shaved his head when his wife started losing her hair from the kemo. He wanted to show the world she wasn't fighting alone.

Can't wait to see it next week.

I just got done watching the Eddie DeBartolo AFL. These are great and I have them set to record every week.

The stories about Chris are legendary - if you ever have a chance to meet a player that played with him - ask about Chris.

Marcellus Wiley did an interview on that Dan LeBatard show (whatever it is called) and he had some great Chris stories when Dan asked him who the craziest, most intense, player he ever played with was.

Oh yeah. There are stories about Spielman, when he used to play linebacker for the Lions, he would picture the ball carrier as trying to run away with his baby. I guess whatever it takes to get you pumped up, lol.

I'll watch it once someone sticks it on YouTube. I'm just starting to watch the Cleveland 95 one. The opening two minutes honestly makes me feel a little sick. I can't imagine what true Browns fans went through that day.
