Lynch is good, but plays mediocre teams at best. He is playing extremely well though.

Manti Teo should NOT win the heisman. He is a great team leader and a hell of a linebacker. But he does not score Touchdowns. When Charles Woodson won the heisman he was scoring touchdowns and playing good defense. Teo doesn't score.

I honestly think Braxton Miller may end up winning it. I think KState will lose to either baylor or texas, I think Notre Dame will lose to USC (Killing any chance teo had) and then I think that would give it to braxton, especially if they go undefeated! I just hope manziel does not win, since he is a redshirt freshman!

Regardless of Lynch and the thread content, it should be a pretty good game!

Mariota and Manziel are light years better than Lynch. Sorry

Only since Jerry coached there, otherwise definitely not.

So....

25-36
407 yds
3 td- 1 int

30 rushes
162

now leading the league in rushing

pretty good game.

dare I say Heisman running worthy?

Again, not saying top candidate, just top 10!

Lynch enters the Heisman running!

2012 Heisman Trophy Candidates and Heisman Favorites Watch List

2012 Heisman Watch - Heisman Trophy Candidates - ESPN

amazing to me that Braxton Miller remains 5th on the ESPN list after a 97 yard, 0 touchdown, 23 carries for 48 yards performance again Wisconsin.

I know Ohio State won, but that is an awful awful game

Like I said before and what others have said, you have to look at the competition. If Braxton Miller was at NIU, he would be putting up even better numbers my good sir. Plus, you guys lost to lowly Iowa, and I can say that because I'm a fan

The kid is a junior I believe.......if he can get a bowl win at the end. He'll be second on next year pre-season Heisman list behind johnny football from A&M.

Right, Miller does play better competition.....but look at the numbers

Pass completion %
Miller 56.8
Lynch 63.6

Pass Yards
Miller 1850
Lynch 2582

Pass Touchdowns
Miller 14
Lynch 22

Pass INT
Miller 6
Lynch 4

Rushing Yards
Miller 1214
Lynch 1504

Yards per carry
Miller 5.9
Lynch 7.0

Touchdown Rushing
Miller 13
Lynch 16

So yes, Miller plays in a tougher conference, but at the same time, Lynch's number around the board are all better.

But what you have to realize is that Miller (or any similar AQ Conference QB) is playing competition that is leaps and bounds above Miami (OH) and Bowling Green. It's common sense that playing in an AQ conference would decrease Lynch's numbers significantly. I see Lynch similar to Dan LeFevour. Great MAC player, but that's just it.

The fact remains, that there are many smaller schools and smaller conferences in the country. But no one else is putting up his kind of numbers.

It's like people knocking Kobe's 81 point game because it was against a bad toronto team. Yes, Toronto was bad, but they still played 81 other games and no one else dropped that much on them.

Johnny manziel is clearly the front runner and is doing the same thing as Jordan Lynch against way better teams and has sat out a full 8 quarters this year because they were winning by so much. Add 2 more full games of numbers and see where that gets you. Video game like

Just pointing it out, but Lynch has sat in games too because they were up by a lot

probably, the whole point of this thread wasn't that Lynch should win, I just though he deserved to be in the running. He has no chance to win, and shouldn't, but I believe he should be a top 10 candidate

Kinda crazy I made this thread over a year ago and here we are again.

What a season by this kid.

NIU is undefeated, and Lynch has thrown for 2,400 yards, 21 TD only 5 INT, and has rushed for 1,400 yards with 17 rushing touchdowns and 6.6 yards per carry.

I don't think he should win Heisman, but it'd be nice if he got invited, his last two seasons have been two of the best in NCAA history.

I wouldn't complain if lynch invited to nY but wouldn't it be crazy of McCarron was qb for 3 titles and never made it there?

As nice as it is, it is still the MAC conference. He has done well against other competition too, but overall the conference is a huge detriment to any considerations.

This is all too true, people get ate up with stats and forget that winning is paramount.

If Lynch deserves the Heisman, so did Colt Brennan and Case Keenum. Fact of the matter is no, he does not.

Unbelievable. Broke his own record tonight for rushing yards in a game by a quarterback in NCAA history.

27 rushes for 321 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Wow

Wow

The spread is 35 and right now they are nowhere near covering. Seems to me that we could put together a team of blowout members and rush for at least 300 against Western Michigan.
